First game was a virtual tie - stat and score-wise.

Both teams scorched the nets from 3 - almost 50%, rebounds, steals, fouls, turnovers all about even.

One thing, and I think can be a key again, was the defensive presence Lattin had inside. OU had 12 blocked shots and he had six of them. Lattin has to stay out of foul trouble and dominate the defensive paint, like he did in Lawerence. He also had 14 boards.

Ellis finished with 27 points, but it took 28 shots to get there.

Lattin has been great the last couple of games, so I hope he can play under control and like his hair is on fire at the same time.

think ya mean "HASN'T" been great? lol....yeah he's prob more of a key than most realize.

Key to beating Kansas...Hield, Woodard and Cousins have to score in double figures. In our 3 losses, Cousins didn't show up at KU, Woodard didn't show up against ISU and K-st

We have got to get Woodard going. The last poster mentioned it and he is right on. We need to get production from Woodard, Cousins and Hield to be successful.

Keep Mason out of the lane

Lattin needs to stay on the floor

Rebound the basketball well

100% agree. Can't let Selden get comfortable either. KU is tough if he's shooting well. They're very beatable if he's not.

I think it is crowd noise and the students creating an energy that makes the officials call the game in OU's favor. There is a reason home teams win way more often and it is the crowd energy. Of course, OU has to make shots and give the crowd a reason to be in the game.

+1

I'm thinkin ku will take some of ksu's game plan. try to push the 3 out, hedge hard and double maybe. Hope that Woodard is still struggling.

It's almost imperative that he shoot well. Cousins and Hield alone won't get it done.

I PRAY if that's the case we drive early...get to the line, find open guys.

Lattin needs to hit the boards. I think a key is to have a "draw" on the missed shots. He needs to put a body on someone and block out. Spangler can't be our only rebounder.

In Lattin's first 5 B12 games he had 47 rebounds (9.4 avg). The 14 against KU and the 10 against KSU in his next game were his high 2 games for the year (7 was his low in those first 5 games).

In his last 7 games (includes LSU), Khadeem has a total of 25 rebounds (3.6 avg). He had one game where he had 6 and his high game in the other 6 games was 4 rebounds. Our guards are out-rebounding him.

IMHO he has become too enamored with blocking shots and is giving up position too easily. Also, trying to block everything gets him in foul trouble. He needs to exercise better judgment and do the dirty work inside.
