Here is my question for everyone who believes this line of thinking: if one of the best high school football players in the country lived in Lawrence or Lexington, would you think he would be foolish/stupid/misguided if he chose to play at OU rather than KU or UK? Of course not. Now, let me be clear -- I realize that OU basketball is a million miles ahead of KU and UK football, so I am not saying the situations are exactly the same. My point is, a great high school athlete choosing to go to one of the best programs in the country isn't "taking the easy way out" or a sign that a kid isn't up for a challenge.
Having said all that, let me make clear -- I am 100% confident that no one on this board hates KU basketball more than I do, for a variety of reasons. So, I absolutely hope he comes to OU, and KU is the last team I want to see him sign with. But if things don't go our way, I just hope people don't go overboard and attack the kid.
