Why the hate at Kansas, year in and year out they're the only team with at least shot of winning it all from the big 12

They have won the title like 3 times ever. A couple bounces our way and we'd be tied with them. Their program is on another level mainly due to fan support but I will never bow down to ku. Kentucky? Yeah I will bow to them, but f ku.

For me, because I come from a family of KU grads and was exposed to KU basketball from the time I was a very young kid. I was either going to love them or hate them, and as a kid, I chose the latter. I've been to dozens of games in Allen Fieldhouse over the years and I can honestly say that their fans treat visiting fans like garbage unless you sit quietly and bow to KU's excellence. I have tons of respect for what their program has done, but the fans are a joke. Not to mention that they are way too arrogant given the fact that their school is usually awful at every sport other than basketball. Sorry, I know that was a long answer to a short question!

going to HS in Wichita, about 130 of my 195 classmates went to ku. Obnoxious spoiled kids...but the true disgust came in 88. Living in KC you couldn't buy a ku fan. UNTIL they won it all.

They think their team never does anything wrong, think they deserve to be in the final 4 every year and when they get beat it's because of a multitude of reasons BESIDES just getting beat. Ex - this year the ksu game in lawrence, every fan I knew pointed out other times ksu did something rather than say they got a call...that if called right wouldn't have given ksu the win, just sent the game into OT.

I'd say ALMOST like OU and some football fans. Sure that's why folks hate OU...

Granted, Allen field house is phenomenal place to be at a game but again, booing the refs when your team has a 40+ FT to 14 edge? (osu game) really?

Here is my question for everyone who believes this line of thinking: if one of the best high school football players in the country lived in Lawrence or Lexington, would you think he would be foolish/stupid/misguided if he chose to play at OU rather than KU or UK? Of course not. Now, let me be clear -- I realize that OU basketball is a million miles ahead of KU and UK football, so I am not saying the situations are exactly the same. My point is, a great high school athlete choosing to go to one of the best programs in the country isn't "taking the easy way out" or a sign that a kid isn't up for a challenge.

Having said all that, let me make clear -- I am 100% confident that no one on this board hates KU basketball more than I do, for a variety of reasons. So, I absolutely hope he comes to OU, and KU is the last team I want to see him sign with. But if things don't go our way, I just hope people don't go overboard and attack the kid.

Some here have been attacking the kid for weeks and he hasn't even chosen KU.

I don't think it makes much sense. Self is a first class guy (or seems to be), runs a 1st class program (that, admittedly has had some issues this year bur that's not at all the norm) and has always treated OU with respect. Brown cheated everywhere he's ever been but he was there was 30 years ago.

I think people basically hate KU because they win.

Because they are better than us. Only reason. Everybody hates a consistent winner, unless you yourself are that consistent winner. It's why few outside the OU family "like" OU football. We win too much. It's why OU football fans don't like Bama.

Hmm. I like to watch good teams basketball or football. I have nothing against Bama or Uconn women. I still believe if fans don't like it, then make your team get better.

I don't like Alabamuh because they claim a bunch of chicken-**** national titles that nobody outside their state acknowledges. No, you don't have 16 or whatever number they pulled out of a hat regarding the Dunkel Index or Helms Foundation, but they still claim them. Ticks me off!

Saban is a marvel, and I love watching his defenses play.

I know of at least 3 players (as well as their handlers) who were paid large sums of cash to sign with ku. I don't really care if you believe me or not. The information came from someone I trust in the aau circuit who received the info first hand. Self, cal, coach k, boeheim et al all slimy coaches.

I wish I could the find the article I read a few weeks ago....it was like an hour read...and it would blow you away when you really start to digest the problems they've had going back a decade.
