Those 2 schools into the Big 12 would not bode well for OU.
TCU is a plus for us but swapping CU and NU for those basketball
powerhouses is a minus.
MU. OU would have a chance at home.

I agree that OU would have find it more difficult to beat WVU and Louisville, than our usual W in hoops when we played CU and Nebraska. But you may be surprised to learn that OU's series record against Louisville is 3-1, and it's 1-1 against WVU. We beat the Mountaineers on a "neutral" West Virginia site in our last game with them in 2008, and then lost by a bunch to the Cardinals in the NCAA tourney that year.

The upside, of course, is that adding those two schools to the Big 12 Conference would increase our RPI in basketball and football, as well as improve our in-conference schedule in both sports. But with the Big East moving quickly to up the exit fee to keep member schools from going elsewhere, I doubt if either of those schools will be a candidate for the Big 12 now.

Not sure about West Virginia but would love to add Louisville.

A Louisville Kansas basketball rivalry would be close to the marquee OU Texas football matchup. The biggest weakness of the Big XII right now is that Kansas does not have close to a peer in hoops. Louisville changes that.

The extra revenue they would get from joining the XII should pay for their exit fee in a year or 2. Plus the Big East isn't even guaranteed to be a football conference next year (they have 6 members currently).

Usual W against Colorado is generous for a team we haven't beat on the road since 02, but I agree it is a bad trade for us overall.
