I am very interested to see how Kentucky reacts to the Louisville defense. I suspect Louisville won't be deep enough to pull it out ... but it should be interesting to watch.
Which is why the scheduled Kansas, Texas, Louisville, North Carolina, UCLA, and Providence all in the non-conference (all of which they've beaten by double digits).
Kentucky is a great team, but they are beatable. Even though they have a really good offensive efficiency rating, they do struggle at times in their halfcourt offense when they aren't scoring in transition or off of turnovers. Louisville has to shoot a decent % and rebound while limiting turnovers....sounds easy enough...right?
So far, their FG % sucks but their defense is keeping them in it.
The refs are letting them play! Six free throws by Louisville in the 1st half and none for Kentucky in a physical game. I glad it's not a free throw shooting contest.
Good defense or bad offense? Probably a little of both. Kentucky shooting 37% and Louisville 21%. Only 40 total points at half.
I would say that Kentucky's offense isn't that great. It's just pretty good. But their defense is about as good as you will see. Louisville is pretty good also.
