Vinny now I see why you started so many.

What an amazing toolbag.

He didn't flop as much tonight, but he runs his mouth the entire game. He argues EVERY call with the refs. I bet they get sick of him.

Give him credit, at least he didn't run off the floor like a little girl like he did Saturday.

Travis Ford let's them act like idiots and they will continue to do so.

If they did, they didn't show it. They coddled him until the final buzzer.

Smart got his points -- he always will as long as there are three men in striped shirts servicing him -- but he did NOTHING to lead the aggies to victory tonight. Nothing.

Intangibles, my ass. He didn't impact the game at all down the stretch.

That didn't stop Mushberger and Fraschilla from continuing to praise him to the skies, of course.

I'm so freaking sick of the hype that has surrounded this guy from the beginning. It's bad for college basketball to have the announcers so very focused on one player, regardless of how the game's going. You'd barely be able to guess the Sooners were winning tonight to hear the announcers tell it.

I think Smart needs to come back next year. He's not ready for the NBA. One more year will give him more time to work on his flop.

He also called Smart one of the 4 or so best players in the college game.

Horse. ****.

I'm not sure he is top 10 at this point.

Guys, I spent 27 years as a Federal Agent and Smart reminds me of so many of those guys that are the reasons I get a retirement check every month. Smart is a thug and before his playing days, college or pro are over he will be in some kind of trouble with the law.

Honestly it was the elbow when the game was over that really bothered me. There is just no reason for that. The kid isn't under control at all.

Come on. I don't like the kid as a bball player either, but he has shown no signs of any off the court problems.

I agree. He's a good player, yes, but the hype is ridiculous.

And of course Smart drew a foul! it was unbelievable.

His bad shooting percentage is one of the reason OSU lost. Woodard completely out played him

Completely unfair comment

In the final five minutes of the game, Smart was whistled for one foul, grabbed one offensive rebound, went 0-for-4 from the field (3 of those from behind the line) and went 1-for-4 from the charity stripe.

Sorry, but any announcer without a pro-Smart agenda makes mention of that. He did nothing to lift oswho to victory.

Edit: I used the ESPN play-by-play feature to compile the above, but it seems to me Smart did hit a couple of FTs in the last couple of minutes. But even if he did, my point stands -- he did nada to lift oswho to victory.

At least he can spoon in the hammock with Forte tonight back in Stoolwater.

Agreed BigTime. I also wonder if the league will review the elbow he threw late in the game? Fran was saying they should review it right then but they didn't.

He didn't flop as much in the first half but started again in the second half BUT the refs have caught on and it is frustrating him. I loved the students chanting "Smarts a floppper"

Totally agree. He's not a top 10 player. I'm not sure he's truly a prime player in this conference. His last 3 conference games, he's shot 10 for 39 and 3 for 21 from 3. He gets to the line because they allow him to strong-arm, flop and flail to the hoop. Hype aside, I'm not sure if he is 1st team all-Big 12, and certainly does not play like an A-A.
I've seen him slated to be a lottery pick. If a lottery team selects Smart to play PG (at the next level where his game does not translate), then that team must really enjoy being in the lottery.

I've heard the Bucks are going to take him. Which, well, makes sense. They are the Bucks.

Can you guys believe what a trash coach Ford is as well - he has all that talent and can't exploit match-ups worth a crap.

If he didn't have Butch Pierre doing his dirty work then he would already be run out of town. Its no wonder that GIA is half full every game.

At what point does Ford finally stand up to him....and tell him to cut the s--- and the theatrics out....and just play ball?
