MBB TPT2 TRANSFER PORTAL THREAD 2

If that's true then why didn't we get into the NIT? Maybe I don't know enough about the selection process.

The only guaranteed NIT berth is for teams who were regular season conference champions but did not make the NCAA tournament. The NIT used to have a requirement that only teams with winning records would be selected, but that requirement was removed. However, the NIT still has not selected any team with a losing record, and they don't use any type of advanced metric ranking to select the next best set of teams. It's done by a committee and votes.

I think they would have easily made the tournament even with 10 extra teams. OU finished 70th in the NET, the gold standard for the committee. OU had zero quad 3 or quad 4 losses.

Where on earth have you ever seen that top 70 is the gold standard? Since only about 36 teams get in as at large teams, number 70 is way out of the mix unless there is some extremely unusual circumstance.

If you go back and look at any of the lists that the bracket guys did in the weeks leading up to the tournament, they all list the first four out, next four out, AND others who could potentially play their way onto the bubble with a good finish. We didn’t appear on a single one of those lists. The most reputable sites fully removed us even from the “others” list. If you can find even a single article Or bracketologist who had us within 10 spots of the cut line, I’d be stunned.

Tre Mitchell from wvu in the portal.

Hope we go all in on him.

No doubt the first of many to portal from West Virginia. Sounds like already a lot of Kentucky talk surrounding him. UK hasn’t had a great offseason so they figure to be very active.

Interesting to see we're pursuing a guard.

I’m all for adding as many good players as possible but it is a bit confusing when you consider the current roster construction. There is a glaring need in the front court, so I’d be devoting every bit of focus to finding a big. Hard to see how it would work with him, Los, and McCollum. Toussaint is only 6’0”, so it’s not like he would be able to play a small-ball three.

I agree. Toussaint doesn’t make sense to me. I’d rather just roll with the young guys at his position.

I guess I thought Hump would be more effective at recruiting post players. Seems that’s not true.

Maks Klanjscek could be a name to watch.

He picked up follows from Dylan Mihalke and Emanuel Dildy and followed both back.

Very much. And it's far from the first time it's happened when he disagrees with someone. The take he was responding to was far from unreasonable, let alone laughable.

Is it the smart-alec-ness of it?

Or the "Laugh out loud out loud out loud out loud out loud out loud out loud out loud out loud out loud"?

Or that it could be "Laugh out laugh out laugh out laugh out laugh out laugh out laugh out laugh out laugh out laugh out loud"?

Or that he Lol'd so much, that a period at the end should be an exclamation point which is more infuriating?

For me, its the period. :p

Thanks for posting. Any info on other schools that are looking at him? HCU is awful and this doesn't seem like the kind of player who moves the needle, but maybe there is more than meets the eye.
