I was talking about bringing in a starting 5 & Godwin being the backup. If Yaya or Norweather don’t leave I don’t see how you can bring in another 5 (along with a starter). I’m in no way wanting Godwin to start next year.

Yaya is gone imo.

I assume the coaches know at this point who is leaving. And in our situation, we need to be looking to upgrade everywhere. One of our bigs hasn’t stayed healthy in two years and another was a lightly recruiter kid who apparently wasn’t even ready to help a bad team this season. If they plan on staying, we shouldn’t let that stop us from trying to improve.

I think they should get recruited over while shown the door. I’m not a fan of this, but PM is on the hot seat & needs to have the best season he can muster up.

I’m saying you can’t have 5 guys who all can just play 1 position, you’re leaving yourself extremely thin on the rest of the roster.

I like Godwin as the backup.

We need to add 2 more bigs in my opinion. One needs to be the starter and another athletic big.

Oh I agree with you there, I just assume we will also recruit guards. So far, we have been linked to more guards than bigs. I’m not confident that we will seal the deal with enough bigs that we will end up with a surplus.

Yay. He looks okay i guess. 3 pts aren't good enough tho but it was an improvement from his prior season which was bad from 3

We already have 3 guys who can only play the 5 & none of them are starting material, and I’d be glad if none of them play major minutes. I’d love for Godwin to play spot minutes & increased during foul trouble. For OU to get 2 quality bigs then someone will have to transfer out or, hopefully, Moser tries to have some lineups with 2 bigs.

What’s his deal? Can he lock up? Athletic? He scores but other than that his stats aren’t good on a bad team.

Collins would be a massive addition due to his shot blocking ability alone. He would be much better at rolling to the basket on pick and rolls than anyone else on our roster. He isn’t the outside shooter Tanner is but Collins shot isn’t bad either. His 2pt fg% and ft% are quite good. He would be a day 1 starter imo.

When is Hump going to recruit a HS big? Or is that too much to ask of the assistant coach that so many around here are so high on?

Damn, he got here in July! Garrison from Del City was pretty much done.


Do you hold Moser accountable for some recruiting? You realize he doesn’t. Have visits during the season right?

The Groves leave Eastern Washington and go to OU. OU can't get to the tournament but at least Easter Washington regroups and made it to the NIT this year. Maybe their coach is better than PM.

They probably make it to the NCAA tourney with Groves. Most likely they were a conference winner who lost in the conference tournament.

I haven't been paying attention to the specifics, but anything in common amongst the guards OU has reached out to? They pg's? Definitely more in the 2/3 mold? Do we think any of this indicates Sherfield likely leaving OU?

Is that the problem? OU needs guards even if Sherfield stays, but if he stays, we probably need guys that are willing to come off the bench, unless the plan isn't to start Oweh next year.
