MBB TPT2 TRANSFER PORTAL THREAD 2

I’m saying he can be. Defensively. Slashing. Find a solid outside shoot to be respectable.

Milos is a difference maker already.

I think Kooper will be one in a short time.

if’s…. But I think we find 2 players that will
Help us right away.

I respect you because you bring a lot of good stuff to here. But that's a lot of ifs my man.

Siena transfer Javian McCollum

6’2, 16ppg 36% 3pt shooter

Never lol but getting another big like Wayman, Minor, Blake…would sure be nice.

Sure. Almost have to be home grown.

Wasn’t ever getting garrison (brother plays fb at osu)

Luke gray hasn’t made that turn to super star yet.

Oweh can turn into a first team all defense guy, but his ball handling and shooting are not to the point of "difference maker" yet.

His ball handling is fine. I was pretty impressed by his handles this year. His 3 point shooting isn’t there but it is reasonable to expect improvement based on his solid FT shooting and touch around the basket. He’s going to be a very good player down the road imo.

He shot 65% from the FT line.

Go read his recruiting stuff, he isn't a great shooter. Maybe he can develop into one, but it won't happen overnight.

I mean, he got more playing time later in the year, and it made a difference.

Made a difference how?

His minutes went up starting with the poke game on 2/1.

We played 11 games from that point on. Went 3-8. Of those 8 losses, about half of them were blow-out type games, and all but 2 were by double digit points. We also had an 8 point loss to poke and the OT loss to texas.

Of the 8 losses, 4 of them were to TT, poke, and WVU, the three teams that finished right above us in the Big 12 standings (ie, we lost a lot of games to some of the not great Big 12 teams).

But sure, yeah, he made a difference.

Hall handling is Not fine for a difference making 2 guard. He can get his own shot with speed and burst, but he’s not going to be handling the ball in full court situations anytime soon.

He does a lot of things well but tightly guarded ball handling and shooting are not his best skills.

It's okay to say he is a good prospect that can help the team, but when I hear difference maker, either I'm not seeing it or my definition is just way different.

He’s a good prospect that can help the team. Anyone that watched the games recently can see it. As for your definition of a difference maker — seriously, who cares? It seems like you (and a handful of others) are just trying to argue for the sake of arguing. We get it. You hate Moser and believe the program is going down the tubes. But seriously, why are you still here if you don’t have anything constructive to say?

I mean, he's just critical of the program. After the past two years, why wouldn't anyone be? I'm still here and I watched every, single, game this year knowing this team wasn't going to win the vast majority of them.

I can point you to the block button if you don't like what I have to say.

Ps.::. He’s going to improve.

He’s got the motor, athleticism, and toughness to become an all big 12 guy if he can develop those skills on the offensive end. I think I’m giving him a critique he might give himself: improve ball handling and shooting, and he can be a difference maker on a good team.

Yes that’s fair. I think we all have reason to be critical, yes. But bagging on Oweh, in my opinion, is barking up the wrong tree. He’s one of the few players we have to look forward to.

Maybe you should take your own advice when a poster doesn’t agree with you. NYC-Fool is right. You and a handful of your compadres who see the world as you do, can’t bring yourself to give Moser credit for anything. You made up your collective minds a long time ago he was a lost cause, and you’re not going to change, no matter what you say.

Am I completely sold on Porter Moser as OU’s coach? No, not entirely. But I’m not going to give our opponents ammunition to use against us in working the portal or the high school recruits we’re in on.

Everyone on this board knows exactly how you feel by now! Give it a rest! Please! I’m sick of it, and so are 90% or more members here. If you want an even better reason, do it out of respect for Boulder! He doesn’t deserve to be treated like this.

Made a difference how?

Largely through defense/hustle plays. Finished the regular season 3-3 and competitive in nearly every game. His defensive plays in the conference tourney along with Bijan's shooting are the only thing that kept that even remotely interesting.
