I'm all-in on Brakefield. There's an overabundance of guys under 6'6 that can't shoot in the portal, so I would drool at the opportunity to have a 6'8 guy that can spread the floor. If Abram wanted to come as an Ole Miss package deal, we'd be most of the way there to a quality roster.

Guys like Primo Spears seem like quality players, but unless they're coming as the backup PG, I just can't really see what a guy 6'4 or shorter brings to this team without shooting at least 35% from 3.

Brakefield would be a nice replacement for Hill (assuming he leaves). Of course, thus far, there isn't anything pointing to OU being interested in Brakefield or if any interest would even be mutual. Certainly the type of upgrade in talent OU needs to be looking for/at.

I'm with you on Spears. Didn't love the interest last offseason. OU needs efficient offensive guys, not "chuckers".

I would much prefer that he portal out. However, if he only plays as a backup with very limited minutes, it's not the end of the world. But if he trots out there next year for the opening tip....we will know the end is thine.

With how many dudes still entering the portal, at what point do we expect some commitments to ou to start happening?

People were posting vids of him overseas like every day. Saying he'd easily be a top 100 guy if he weren't from Germany. Some predicting him to start.

He was getting WAY more excitement than Mawein. Not even close. Maybe most of it was coming from a vocal group of a few, but it was loud.

If Jacob stays and plays meaningful minutes next season that will mean we failed in the portal. We can then be assured Porter Moser will be fired.

Two UNC guys are in the portal - Tyler Nickel & Justin McKoy.

Nickel was a top 100 kid.

Neither would likely help OU and neither played much at UNC.

UNC will have a major roster overhaul as well.

I remember a lot of posts about him, and many on here did think he had the potential to be top 100 in America, but we've had four that ACTUALLY are top 100 in the past two classes. He was an exciting project, but wasn't considered a surefire thing. Any of the four I mentioned would be much bigger misses, and he's not even in the same stratosphere as guys like Blake, WW, Trae, McGusty, Gallon, TMG, and Harmon were. I'd consider a guy like Bam as a more surprising miss (thus far). It's OU's fanbase...we're more excited for JUCOs than international prospects at this point.

Talked to my UNC buddy....he said it doesn't make sense that Nickel is leaving. The kid has game and he was very likely going to be a key piece for them moving forward.....didn't see the floor much this year because he was behind RJ Davis, Caleb Love and Leaky Black. He would be a very nice "get" and an upgrade over losing Schroeder IMO.

If OU goes through the portal circus and doesn't come as a defined winner, then there's no reason for Moser to return in the Fall. He's got a couple of months to prove he's worthy otherwise don't let the door hit you on the way out.

With KT Turner going to UT Arlington, it could be a nice landing spot for a couple OU (potential) departures. Especially a kid like Noland.
