MBB TPT2 TRANSFER PORTAL THREAD 2

What they will provide that last year didn't have is elite rebounding

ill averaged 5.8 rebounds in 33 minutes per game--.18 rebounds per minute.

Traore averaged 1.4 rebounds in 10 minutes per game--.14 rebounds per minute.

Lubin shows more promise -- .25 rebounds per minute, which would amount to 8.25 rebounds if he got Hill's 33 minutes -- but I'm not sure Traore can counted to be elite or even a tick better than Hill in that regard.

PM did it in chicago ..

The FF team started four guards and basically everyone other than Krutwig could shoot. But even if your statement is correct for some other season, they also played in a miserably bad league. Doing that in the Big 12 in the modern game would be almost impossible unless we sign Tim Duncan and David Robinson in the portal.

In the modern game? That was 2021.

2018-2021 was Cameron Krutwig btw

So you think he'd be a big upgrade in rebounding at the 4. Great. We're on the same page.

We better get some guys who can shoot the 3 because Oweh has no shot outside 5 feet from the bucket. I like his potential but realistically he isn’t a starter yet on a tournament team. The portal needs to be great this year!

Im not as high on oweh as most. Hes reshard odoms 2.0. We need some athleticism too. But i don't think he should be a starter unless he ups his shooting %s

TCU shot .310 % as a team

ISU shot .331 as a team ..

heck OU as a team was 2nd best in the conf ..

he shot 44% as a true freshman ..

that number will only go up .

.45 as a starter and 80% FT shooter as a starter ..

Late bloomer. Odomes still making great money playing basketball at a high level. Jamuni as well. (fyi)

Which part is wrong? The factual post about his FF team? The fact that the MO Valley is a bad league? The premise that in modern basketball, you need good shooting? Again, coach, try not to be so sensitive. If you have actual criticism that you can present in a coherent manner, I am more than happy to hear your thoughts.

If Odomes were on our roster next year as the sixth man, I'd be happy with that next year. He wasn't as good as we had hoped, but he was a solid contributor on some tourney teams.

Of these "tons," how many also lacked athleticism and anything resembling a good inside presence? And how many elite bigs who have shown they can succeed in college are we in on?

we saw this coming but still dang it ..

What players are you talking about? The ones we're discussing that aren't good 3-point shooters are elite athletes, or at least clearly above average. I would agree that we shouldn't bring in guys that are bad athletes and can't shoot. Perhaps we should add to the list that we're not excited about recruiting people that don't have legs, have no eligibility, and are on death row.

Is 2020 2021 not modern basketball?

Far from sensitive!
