We better get some guys who can shoot the 3 because Oweh has no shot outside 5 feet from the bucket. I like his potential but realistically he isn’t a starter yet on a tournament team. The portal needs to be great this year!

Careful, some around here don't like hearing stuff like that.

I'm less concerned with getting athletes than I am with getting basketball players with some skills (ie, shooting to start with).

And there is no magic formula. Yes, it is possible for PM to put together a good OU team where both the 4 and 5 starters aren't great shooters. But they are going to have to be a notch below elite somewhere else. Defense? 3 point shooting from the guards? Right now, I don't see us reaching nearly elite status with another aspect of our game. Defense is probably the closest, but we'd need a lot there too.

I won't apologize for wanting what most other teams have. The same ones on here fussing with me about the importance of shooting and having 4-5 guys that can spread the floor envy that very thing about other teams and even mentioned it about OU during the season. But not now? Strange behavior.

I think we can all agree we need to get a few portal starters.

Lost:

G - Sherfield*
F - Hill*
C - T. Groves*

F - Shroeder

We lost 3 starters, 2 bench roleplayers, and 3 non-contributors

So we need to bring in a starting G, starting C(5), starting F(4)...IMO. Another F and maybe another G that can be athletic and provide minutes after that.

PG - Uzan/backup G
SG - Cooper or portal G (presumably McCollum)
SF - Oweh/portal combo wing
PF - portal F/portal F (Traore?)
C - portal C/(whoever shines from Northweather/Godwin/Keita)

We are only returning 3 guys that played any significant role last year, so we need bodies and decent production at that.

You got the wrong guy. I've stated multiple times that I wasn't a big fan of Hill or his game, especially with the talent he had around him at OU (ie, not a good fit/mix).

My bad if I mistook you for another poster. I sometimes get your screen name and Wichita's switched up so it may have been his.

FYI I like Owen just don’t think he is ready to be a big time scorer. Still believe if Jamuni didn’t get scared after getting hurt his last year he had a chance to make the league. Probably not realistic but he was a freak athletically.
