The ncaa is almost as big of a joke as our government.. mind boggling that there is nearly unfettered free agency now.. will be so sad for some teams to go from talented to desert year after year.. and coaches losing jobs over it... crazy

I don’t know why we get our hopes up. Moser will bring in some leftovers from G5 and we’ll finish in last place again and miss the tourney. Again. Moser sucks at recruiting the portal. It’s probably not entirely his fault with his hands partially tied by OU leadership not trying to be competitive, but still.

The next 365 days will be a long, slow death spiral.

I agree. Last year's portal thread was torture. Guys we were mentioned for and lost out on, and guys brought up that we didn't even reach out to. I appreciated the thread, like this year, but it's really depressing.

Honestly… why would you expect Oklahoma to be on any of these lists?

We definitely don’t have much to sell. We haven’t won under Moser, don’t have a very good fan base, and Moser plays a style that very few high level, athletic players want to play. We can offer immediate playing time because we will have lots of roster spots open and desperately need talent, but the good players in the portal will be able to get playing time wherever they go. It feels like a slow death march till Joe C has had enough.

Sorry if you don’t like people speaking the truth. I’d argue it’s tiresome to hear people who trip over themselves trying to find new ways to try and make it sound like we are a good team that got a little unlucky and had the misfortune of playing in a great conference.

What would you suggest the “negative” folks look to for hope? And I mean something other than “he has signed four 4-stars in the past two years.”
 
Just my two cents, use this thread to keep track of who has entered in the portal.

I couldn't care less about which schools have contacted 'X' player. Contact isn't a scholarship offer, it could just be an automated email or text message to that player's contact information in the transfer portal database. When OU or another school actually offers someone, then it'll mean something. And that type of activity won't pick up till the later rounds in the tournament. Until then, crack open a beer tomorrow and enjoy the tournament.
