Jaykwon Walton of Wichita State is in the portal. Had a very nice season.

Re: MBB TPT2

Heck. Id take him rn to have something in our back pocket. Claimed to be 6'11

His numbers are barely better than Tanner, against much worse competition. I think settling for guys is the last thing we should do. I’m not confident Moser will be able to land anyone better, but I think we have to try. If we strike out on all the difference makers, we can settle late in the process. Just my opinion.

Re: MBB TPT2

Yeah, I see Germany as more of a backup big at OU. OU can/should do better than him for a starting level big. But I guess it's of note.

Tulsa would make sense if he wants to play in-state.

Fits better with how ORU plays. Tulsa actually has a really good big guy. If he hops in the portal, teams will line up.

ORU definitely makes sense as well. As long as Mills sticks around. I also wonder if Vanover uses his covid year. Abmas? My guess is he has to be leaving. ORU will have an interesting offseason, potentially.

Honestly, Tulsa was the first team to come to mind because I'm running a portal thread (half-assedly) on Inside Tulsa Sports, their free basketball forum, as well.

But also because Selebangue, who you're referencing, is on an island, he's all TU has as far as productive bigs go. The other bigs, still on their roster, kind of suck if I'm being totally honest and they took a commitment from a HS kid who isn't even AAC quality IMO (Matt Reed - their Luke Northweather but he's only 6'8). Tulsa was even worse than OU when it came to rebounding the ball and their second leading rebounder (5.3 rpg), Dalger, is currently in the portal....so yeah, they could use another guy to come in to pair/help Selebangue. Someone who could get 5-9 rpg. As a starter or 6th man, whatever.

Yeah, but it is going to be hard to ask a guy of Germany’s production to be a backup his 5th year.
