Would have been good if "Big Time" got called out as well Ada anyway thanks for your objectivity

Your act is tired on here.

PapaP, what part of "Your act is tired on here" is calling you names? It's an opinion. Nothing new on fan boards. It's not the same as calling someone "classless."

I have no plans to continue this back and forth nonsensical dialogue that doesn't accomplish anything in the end. Have a Margarita for me while you're at it. I like them frozen or on the rocks equally as well. ;)

You know I like you Ada, but you can't show up and scold papaP, and let all the other name calling go, just b/c they are regulars. Boca and others have been saying MUCH worse in recent weeks, and haven't been as much as warned. At least, not publicly.

This. I'm sorry, no disrespect intended, but the regulars around here certainly get a much longer leash. You run off new people that way. If PapaP is in The Bahamas, I'm VERY interested in his input in this. For someone to run him off would be a shame.

WT, I don't read every thread, and I danged sure don't read every post. Truth is, I don't spend nearly as much time on this board as I have in years past. I'd dare say there aren't many posters on this board who would be willing to give literally thousands of hours of their time the past six years plus. That's not meant as a complaint by any means. I do it because I love OU basketball. I'm also doing it to help my friend, OUHoops. He has contributed a lot more than me. He gives his time, and his money, so we can have a place to discuss basketball.

If someone is calling people names or using foul language, do me a favor, send me a PM and point me to the thread it's on. You complained about the profanity on the board not long ago, and with good reason. I responded to it by editing the posts.

Your assistance is not only welcomed, it's greatly appreciated. I don't have the time, nor do I plan to take the time to ride herd on everyone.

Surely you jest Lancelot... Chad Ford was recently discredited for going back and fudging his draft picks to make him more accurate and draftexpress has there high and lows who would take Alec Burke over Klay Thompson, draftexpress would because Burke is better athletically and has more upside than Klay...NOT
Thompson and Burks went 11th and 12th, so projecting one over the other was hardly absurd. If Thompson over Burks had been such a no-brainer, nine teams wouldn't have passed on Thompson. Burks is a quality NBA player--good enough to garner a 4-year, $42 million extension; Thompson has developed into a player that far exceeds his draft position.

I'm sure Klay's dad thought the idea of Burks over Klay was crazy, but if the front offices that drafted ahead of Golden State shared the same opinion, he wouldn't have dropped to 11th.

It's one thing to have imperfect mock drafts and projections that look bad in hindsight; it's another thing to make NBA player comparisons like this one: http://www.nbadraft.net/players/deshawn-stevenson

Well Smash the jist of the conversation from my point of view was the guys at express screw up as well I know that got lost in the debate. Remember Daniel Orton by chance

The early nbadraft.net rankings are usually fairly erratic. The closer to the draft the more they fall in line with everybody else.

Buddy will be a nice case study for us to watch. They have consistently had him rated higher than others. He turned heads at some camps last summer and more than held his own head to head against Marcus Smart. It wouldn't surprise me if Buddy worked out better than he looks in our offense which seems to hold him back.

I hope you're right, boca. I would love to see Buddy drafted higher than he is projected by most of the mock draft sites. I only want what's best for him, and I'm absolutely certain I'm not alone in those thoughts.

You've seen Buddy up close a lot more than me Ada. Aren't there times when he explodes off the dribble and blows by his guy and does the euro step, etc that you wonder why he doesn't do more?

I just think that short 3 point line in the college game leads players like Buddy to shoot more outside than they normally would. And the math has coaches encouraging them to do so. But in NBA workouts he will be going one on one in iso situations and I bet his athleticism shines.

Boca, I saw Buddy drive on defenders more as a freshman and early in his sophomore season than in the last year or so. He definitely has that ability. So, I totally agree that his success behind the arc may have had an effect on his game to some extent. I don't know if that was by design or something he was doing on his own? He took more three point shots than anyone on the team, so maybe that was part of the game plan.

Solid points, by the way!

So you picked an example where the difference was one draft position?

that because draft express and their "scouts" change their minds to match the other sites draft projections ..

Actually I used that one because of the Kentucky love fest that goes on in the draft where guys that should not be drafted in the first round end up doing so.

alex burks who went to Colorado has what to do with Kentucky??

Re read the conversation we were talking about how express can get it wrong on drafts I pointed to how an example and I used another one with Orton

Hold on you basically are saying what I just said

Some of the guys that turned heads at the LBJ and KD camp were Buddy, Sam Dekker and R.J. Hunter of all of them Buddy had the best regular season and Sam had the best tournament followed by Buddy.

How is it that draftexpress can have him rated so low with Sam and RJ in the first round? They even have Norman Powell higher even though Buddy dropped 24 on him in the Atlantis tournament.

ummm maybe b/c RJ and Dekker are both better players/have more potential. ARe you really trying to discredit draft express b/c they don't have buddy ahead of these two?
