Like I said. Texas is trash. BoomerAh, a constructive comment. Proving the 50th in education ranking true.
OU should have at least tried with OVG. Then selling with the group they are with us why this is sitting at the Supreme Court. Norman is big enough for OVG to consider partnering with OU. Just makes me wonder if Joe C. even tried.
I'm hoping that this means there's enough movement and dollars committed towards the arena that there's pressure to make the project happen.
waiting on the OK SCSo, it’s happening? Or is it not?
No. Lol this means the city wants nothing to do with it, so the county will, should the Supreme Court approve it, or if it passes a vote of Cleveland County citizens (which it would fail).I'm hoping that this means there's enough movement and dollars committed towards the arena that there's pressure to make the project happen.
Another crappy part of the article. Manhattan and Gensler are not operating the arena. They may build it, but are not operating it.From the article:
Proposals to design, build and operate the arena came from:
• Legends Global, a venue management group based in Los Angeles;
• Gensler Architects, a design and architecture firm headquartered in San Francisco;
and Manhattan Construction LLC, an Oklahoma City-based construction company.
Proposals to design and build the arena’s parking garage came from:
• OVG, a professional sports and commercial real estate company based in Denver;
• Populous Architects, a sports and entertainment design company headquartered in Kansas City;
• and Flintco LLC, a construction and design company registered and licensed in 34 states.
OVG submitted a bid for the parking garage. They manage a ton of arenas, but not this one.
Looks like Legends Global is the only one that specializes in arena management.
About 2028 or 2029 seasonWhen is this arena supposed to be ready?
Too bad that comment isn't about the head coaching position.Sounds like OU will be releasing statements sometime this week (possibly today) about this moving forward. Massive day for OU.
