I’m not totally convinced you aren’t a bot programmed to spam anti Moser contentToo bad that comment isn't about the head coaching position.
The house that Porter BuiltToo bad that comment isn't about the head coaching position.
They should have buried a paragraph in the middle saying "contingent upon Moser being relieved of his duties . . ."Yes, the Supreme Court rejected the petition!
Because a ****-ton of our fans have absolutely zero ties to the University of Oklahoma. If you dropped 95% of our base at the Target in UNP without a phone they'd have one hell of a time finding Owen Field. The third comment on one of the Scoop threads:
"How will this help us win #8?"
Parts of our fan base just bug me to no end. Football uber alles. People that live and die with football, and learned to like softball because they win NCs.
I don't know if other schools have this dynamic among the t-shirt fans. I'm technically one of them, because my degrees are not from OU. But I ride or die with the crimson and cream in all sports and don't understand why a large part of our fan base doesn't feel the same.
I wouldI always upset football only fans when I tell them I would trade a football NC for at least ONE in basketball. Only half true. If I had a choice I would take a national championship in basketball before football, but it's funny watching them squirm indignantly.
Don't torture me with thisIt was 38 years ago now, but imagine if we had won the NC as a favorite over Kansas. The permanent perception of OU basketball would be changed to this day.
still the worst day of my Sooner fandom life. Funny how no one talks about the '89 KU team barred from the tourney for recruiting violations! It was 38 years ago now, but imagine if we had won the NC as a favorite over Kansas. The permanent perception of OU basketball would be changed to this day.
Mine, too. I've lived through a lot of football losses, but that was worse.still the worst day of my Sooner fandom life. Funny how no one talks about the '89 KU team barred from the tourney for recruiting violations!
Dude, please stop. This isn't about Moser. Go to the other 15 threads about him and apam the board. This is about the new arena and surrounding area.Porter, if you are reading this, the new arena is north of town. Very far north. I think it is near Wrigley Field. Probably would be a good idea for you to start heading that direction now.
"Dude," get a sense of humor. And "dude," we get it -- you are convinced he will be our coach till 2050. Maybe you should stick to the women's board, since you seem more inclined to complain about the one basketball team on campus who actually wins.Dude, please stop. This isn't about Moser. It's also how a program located in the small state of Oklahoma can survive on the biggest stage and be top 5 brand in college athletics. That doesn't happen without the tons of people not directly affiliated with the university itself that follow and support it. OU isn't graduating 20K kids a year like Ohio St or Texas Aggie. Yes there are negatives to all of that but without this type of engagement OU athletics would be on a very different level.I think the criticisms of people who are hyper focused on football are a bit unfair. The fact is that OU football is woven deeply into the culture of this state. It gave people reason to be proud to be an Oklahoman when there was literally no reason to be proud to be an Oklahoman. That has been passed down through generations. I know because my family fits that description. My parents went OU and so did I but the generations before us had a deep passion for OU football that goes back to the relief it provided from the stigma of the dust bowl. Like it or not, it will always be that way.
