Seems like it would be a good hire. The fact he may want to rejoin PM (and leave a great coach in Altman) might quiet the “everyone hates working for PM” crowd up a bit. probably not though lol.

I vaguely remember when he played at Kent State. He is not the brother of Antonio Gates, who played at Kent State before becoming an NFL tight end. However, Armon is the brother of Missouri coach Dennis Gates.

And, yes, previous connections to both Porter Moser and Doc Sadler.

There are some (small) things trending for ou and ware but agree it is unlikely. Ware is visiting Indiana today btw.
