KBaden, the coach is an innocent victim in this mess. I see no reason to mention his name.

Nike has admitted he made a mistake and apologized for it. If the posters here want to forgive and forget, count me in. I have already told him he can stay if that's what he wants to do. He does indeed have sources, so IMO he can be an asset.

What I don't want is for this fiasco to drag on any further. It's time to get back to talking about basketball again. I hope everyone will agree with that position.

I agree with Ada and will refrain. I was going to make the point that I believe only a small number of posters actually know who it was or, in most cases, what actually occurred. Please nike...stay and contribute but do so honestly and truthfully...

I remember the situation, and I found out who the coach was/is. I also don't care about any of that. Post away, it's over. Most who frequently contribute on a board will have a moment they would rather forget.

Let's just get back to hoops talk. If the admin hasn't banned you, no one else should try to act as the board police. You admitted your wrong, now you must let it go before others will, IMO.

I knew he wasn't who he said he was, but can respect someone admitting a mistake. Also agree that the real coach doesn't need to be dragged back in again. Hopefully, some lessons learned and move forward.

I'm sure there are a few others that know the name, but most importantly, everybody knew the information needed to "find" the name, if they wanted. Even in the future. The coach wasn't happy that somebody was STILL, a year later, pretending to be him. He also confirmed Postman77's account that he posted a year ago.

I'm glad nike finally admitted this publicly. For the record, I still have my doubts on his honesty, but he has every right to stick around and try to become a productive member of the board. He did know the Hornbeak news, so it seems.

Edit: I also agree that there is no reason to post the guy's name.

Thanks to all of you for seeing the wisdom of keeping the coach's name out of this discussion. Time will tell if your support of nike is a wise decision. That's really up to him. IMO, he deserves a second chance. I'd dare there aren't many here who didn't make mistakes when they were young. I know I did.

#2, I coached for over 15yrs. I started out as a GA at a HS while in college. Did that for 3 years. When I got out was able to get a Head job at a small HS. Moved up or on from there. If you are willing to work for cheap and long hours someone will let you learn from them. Just be somewhat picky about who you work with. That they are knowledgeable and in it for the right reasons.
