No Perry Jones tonight?

I'm aware they signed, but we know as well as anyone that if a kid doesn't want to go to a school anymore due to changes or possible penalties they can find a way out. All I'm saying is to gauge their feelings once things come out just in case they become available.

I would say there is only a - "Tiny" - chance OU would be where they went to escape possible penalties.

Heading into a must-win Big 12 tournament game against Oklahoma on Wednesday, Baylor needed all available resources.

According to reports, though, the Bears will be without starting forward Perry Jones.

A source told Jason King of Yahoo! Sports that Jones was suspended by the NCAA for the rest of the season for allegedly accepting impermissible benefits.

Baylor is reportedly looking at appealing the decision.

Adam Winkler of KEYE TV in Austin first tweeted that Jones was suspended for tonight’s game, while 610 Sports in Kansas City cited TV reports saying that Jones might be done at the school for accepting benefits.

Jones, a 6-foot-11 freshman, is averaging 13.9 points and 7.2 rebounds per game this season. He is projected as a top-five draft pick by some mock drafts.

word from my sources is that he accepted something from an agent. It was a minor gift. Baylor reported it- NCAA declared him ineligible pending further review.

Personally, I am kind of interested to see how Baylor plays without him. I haven't been a big fan of his play. Very soft and terrible on defense. Number one job description of an NCAA coach is: crisis manager. I feel sorry for NCAA coaches really. They get paid very well but most of these kids are knuckleheads...

I find it odd that there has been nothing official announced yet. It is less than 90 minutes from game time. Could they be doing a last-minute appeal or something?
