North Texas TV/ GAME THREAD

Just win, baby! Big shot by Doo!

There is a lot of parity this year in college basketball. No wins are going to be easy.

Defense must get better though. We need to foul more. I don't think we are being aggressive enough on D.

its a W not much else to say, cold shooting starts alongside bad defense most of the night is not a winning formula with this roster.

Will this be replayed on tv at all? Not sure if I want to though from the sound of it.

North Texas is better than their record suggests. They have a couple of talented kids and some other good role players (big man, white shooter).

They played well, most of the game. They out-rebounded OU.

Anyway, you take wins when you can especially when not having your A game.

The bench didn't come through. Some of that is Kruger's doing, some of it is just the way the game transpired. I thought Alondes needed more minutes early in the 2nd half.

It is what it is. Big shots by Doo and Harmon. Fun game to watch.

That north Texas team sucks... Wins are wins, but in defeat it can show signs of problems. Hopefully just a bad night.

Lipstick on a pig. It was not a fun game to watch.
Where is our A game? Do we have one?

I thought alondes was a turnover machine tonight. But i was doing work in my garage while watching. He looked like he was having an off night imo

Damn entertaining game! Some idiot jumped on his seat so I didn’t see UNT’s final 3 point attempt.

UNT is a solid squad. Any road win is a good one.

Did a sub even score tonight?

Jalen Hill scored 2.

You're right. He had 3 TOs in 13 minutes, but it never felt like he got into the rhythm of the game for whatever reason.

I probably need to rewatch to see more of why that was.

JMO.

With all due respect NAIA (because you are a really good poster), this UNT squad is not a "good" team....no matter what metric you use. I heard a similar excuse after the W&M game. I don't know how good OU is, but they have shown an alarming propensity thus far to play down to the competition. The good news (I guess) is that the warts have been exposed and we know where we need to improve....but the sobering part is how are we going to begin to resolve some reoccurring problems before conference. I don't have all of the answers unfortunately.

William and Mary is better than UNT. But really neither teams are that good. I'm not sure we are this year either. We have some offensive talent on top like Reaves and Doolittle everyone else is pretty inconsistent. Manek will do a few good things on offense everyone else is just inconsistent or bad right now.

Haha, yeah, that's why I was careful with my words. I think UNT is better than what one would think when they see "3-6". They've played tough against quality competition thus far. Gibson is a dang good mid-level collegiate guard. He could definitely play in the Big 12.

UNT was 21-12 last year (haven't looked at their roster turnover). We'll see how the rest of this year goes. But yeah, it's hard to say they're "good". They aren't terrible, though, IMO. They compete. Well-coached.

You're right, OU has played down to their competition to start the season. Let's hope they're learning from it before league play starts.

Wichita State will be a huge test on the 14th. They play Okie State on Sunday. The Shockers are legit.

According to the BPI, OU only had a 54% chance to win this game. im happy to come out with a W. Split the next two on the road and its a pretty good non-conference record.

Glad to have that one behind us. Even though we have played several pseudo-road games, this was the first true road game of the year. We were lucky and survived. Learn from it and on to the next.

As someone posted earlier in the day or last night, we were 6.5 point favorites entering the game. I was hoping for a more decisive victory, but certainly wasn't counting on it. Glad we got out of there with the win.
