...but am I the only one who is worried that Cam is 3 for 18 from the floor so far this season? And 2 of those three were dunks...I just don't get how he can look so unsure sometimes...

So Cam is 3-18, and Sam is 3-16...yikes...I think Pledge, Osby and Newell have all been as good or better than I had hoped/expected...but Sam and Cam have to shoot the ball better than that...

I think Cam will get better looks against a team that plays man against us. But yea, I'm a little worried. It's not just that he is missing shots, it's that he isn't getting good shots, IMO, and just doesn't seem to fit in the offense yet.

Of course, I never expected Cam to be better than our 3rd or 4th best scorer this year. So he can still do that.

Grooms seems to be playing better than his shooting % shows. But a PG isn't about shooting anyway. I don't think I ever really looked at Quannas White or John Ontjes on a bad shooting streak and say they didn't play well at point because they shot this in a certain number of games. Sam has lead this team well at PG and doesn't seem to turn it over much.

If Cameron Clark plays more like he did near the end and just take the ball to the hoop like that monster jam specifically, he'll be a lot better player. He just doesn't seem to like to do that a lot for some reason.

Cam is a good shooter. His shot will start falling. Not worried at all. He's getting good looks.

Just think how tough we will be when those open looks start falling.

18 shots isn't enough of a sample size for me to worry yet. If it doesn't improve over the next few games I'll be a bit worried. He did shoot 47% from the field over a season last season. Though it isn't unusual to see a sophomore slump.

Cam's shot looks really jerky and not smooth at all. He doesn't look like someone who can shot the ball that well. I think 3 of 18 will be who he is. I don't expect him to be a good shooter this year. He will have a few highlight dunks each game, but that's about it.

If it is still bad after this tournament then you can be a little worried. I see his minutes being a little less against teams that zone. There are better deep shooters on this team. Most will man us the rest of the way.

I am under the opinion that cam is a bit of a late bloomer. I expect that he will probably have a tame season this year, but i do believe that he will be a monster in his junior and senior years.

I am worried just because for Cam it seems mostly all mental. I've been waiting since the day he took the court in a Sooner uni for him to become more assertive and confidant in his abilities. He is easily the most talented kid on our roster at putting the ball in the rack but none of it has come even close to showing yet.

If we want to take that next step to becoming a good team again and hoping to sniff a tourney berth we need someone to step the hell up and be that consistent 15-20 PPG scorer. Our offense will be a lot more productive when we actually have a player that defenses have to game plan against and even double team at times. We don't have enough talented people on the court to go straight up most nights and put up enough points to be a consistent winner.

Cameron is capable of becoming an NBA player if he can get his game together. Definitley lacking in a few areas but his athletic ability will make up for a lot. He reminds me a lot of Russell Westbrook.

I don't think I agree with that. What is his position in the NBA? Just about has to be a SG, no? Do you really see him matching up with guys like Kobe and Ray Allen? He also doesn't have the range (and I doubt he can develop it), to play SG in the NBA. And I think he is just too small to play SF there.

That is a silly way to put it. No one can match up against guys like Kobe and Allen.

The only NBA prospect on the current roster is a guy named M'buy. He is the tall one on the end of the bench wearing street cloths.

Cam had a lot of good looks against Coppin that almost went in. Almost went in is still a miss, but those shots will start falling eventually. If we're 8-10 games in and he's still struggling significantly then I will start to get a little worried.

His name is M'Baye, and we haven't even seen him play as a sooner.

Was it his cheering on the bench that helped you determine this or was it based on how high he jumped in celebration of Cam's dunk against Coppin? Or was it from all the Wyoming Cowboy basketball games you watched last year? I'm curious to know.

Well, firstly, I know a good player when I see one. I have been watching kids come thru the OU program for a long time.

I haven't been counting them or marking them down on a calender. But, I have been to at least 20 practices. Will probably go tomorrow.

He isn't just a notch better than the others. He is alot better. He can play inside out and is the best rebounder and 3 pt shooter on the team. He is likely to be, with the exception of Blake, the best player to come thru the program in a long time.

He is a good ball handler for a 6'9" guy. But, not as good as the guards. He occasionaly gets in a hurry and gets himself trapped and doubled teamed on the baseline. But, he has a couple of years to get better.

There are only two good basketball players on the current team. Osby and Grooms. There really isn't a position in the NBA for players of Osby's size and skills. And there are lots of good guards every year.

Clark and Calvin seem to have the athletic ability and quickness that is often a characteristic of a good player. But, niether of them are there yet. And they may never be.

The rest of them are just basketball players. Some better than others. But, none a threat to go to the NBA.

That is why I said that there is only one NBA prospect on the roster and he was in street clothes.

Cam has all the physical tools to play in the NBA as a 2 or even as a 1. He's a mile away on the development. My guess is that he is capable of being a 2nd round pick and sent off to develop or he will be touring Europe. If he dedicates himself then there is a chance he can greatly improve his chances on sticking with an NBA team.

You cannot deny physically he is exactly what NBA teams look for and want in a 2.
