+++++Oklahoma [4-1] vs. North Texas [4-3] Gameday Thread+++++

meh, NT shooting well. they were mostly open shots unfortunately. Brady did manage to close out on a couple. sure shows you how a good backcourt can keep you in most games. Nice job to NT there.

At the game. TY getting torched repeatedly on screens but hey, at least he's good at this whole offense thing. The whole place was getting ready to go crazy when the last one left his hand.

I fully expect OU to come back and win, but if they don't, this would be the worst loss of the Kruger era....from a metrics standpoint. NT is 302nd in adjusted offensive efficiency and 282nd in defensive efficiency. This would be comparable to losing to Sacred Heart, Stetson, or Kennesaw State on your home floor.....yikes!

omg relax. geez. smoke some weed or something.

OU isn't going to lose this game and you'd expect some sort of hangover after the big win the other day and the weak opponent. But it's fair for the coaching staff to be upset about the lack of commitment on the defensive end.

the times they were switching it was going relatively smooth. they just didnt close out on the 3 pt line very well.

The switch to put Odomes on their point guard was a tremendous coaching adjustment. He's cutting off the penetration they were using to set up wide open 3's & their offense has become very static. No more wide open 3's.

For those like me who can't watch the game, I appreciate the Xs/Os and coaching adjustment updates Chuck. I figured Lon would switch something up to start the half.

sorry my bad. I always assume the people on the thread are watching the game. OU's defense has been much better in the second half. dude above was point on about keeping their little point guard in front of them. those open shots from the firsy half have gone away.

but even in the first half their movement on D was pretty decent (save 2 possessions). they would just be in weak-side help mode and wouldnt close out on the regular pass rotation around the arc. they werent even skip passes. it was just kinda lazy. Brady picked his up a little and did a better job before the half. NY just hit their open shots well.

You know sometimes I really wish Lon had the ability to rip into these guys. When you're up 4 at home against a 29 point underdog and a team ranked in the 300's...come on man have some freaking pride.

Everyone outside of Trae Young playing like effin garbage!!

dont make so much out of the spread. NT has pretty savvy guards and they have done a good job keeping the possessions long and slower. Thats just good basketball. whoever evaluated them to not be so good clearly spent too much time buried in stats than actually seeing them play.

Up 1 at the under 8 timeout.....good gawd.

No passion. They don't pick it up they could lose. They don't get exponentially better and we are looking at a really rough season in conference. I'm sure Lon will get them to figure it out

I think James and Manek combined have missed like their last 15 3's. Most of them wide the eff open too.

agree with the guys about grind it out games. fans freak out but they're good experience for nut-up times later.

defense is sound. just needs a little more energy. pace makes all the difference here. very easy to slow down games if you need to and have solid guards. Trae picks it up every time he can. you just hafta draw a balance between taking risks to get turnovers and when to just play solid and trust the [process.

I didn't think it was possible but Khadeem's offensive game has gotten every year since his Sophomore year. NO touch around the rim and probably shoots under 10% on the 18 foot jumpers

I think OU is playing pretty well in the second half actually.
