OUR squad has an REASON (this year) for sucking...how bout the coaches at the other 8-9 Big XII schools???

BTW, I'm not saying they have an excuse like it makes it OK. I'm saying the reason for them sucking is because of having a TON of new faces.

The other schools have most all of their team back and quite a few of them have proven Big XII talent.

Of course, SOME would turn this post completely around instead of staying on topic...:ez-laugh:

Its more like a reason than an excuse.

MASS EXODUS OF PLAYERS????

I didn't realize TMG, Tiny, Ray Willis, and Orlando Allen were not recruited by Capel?

I guess you are going to also blame Sampson for them coming and then partaking in a "mass exodus"?

:facepalm

That's true...I didn't literally mean "excuse". Message board posts just don't always reflect the gist of what a person means.

In any event, what would be the REASON for the other teams' demise???

Are you completely stupid? That wasn't my intent AT ALL. This was more about the rest of the teams in the league. Where do you guys come up with this stuff. Just read the post for what it says and quit putting your own spin on it.

It's difficult to carry on any kind of light-hearted conversation on this board due to all the negativity on this board...

Oh, and BOB...thanks for sending me a PM the other day encouraging me to participate then only to act like a complete douche whenever I attempt to do so...

The Big 12 has 2 really good team(Kansas, Texas), maybe a couple above average teams(Missouri and Baylor), one average team(A&M), and a bunch of bad teams.

You could also say the Big 12 has two excellent teams, a few above average teams and several average teams. I don't know that the Big XII is bad this season.

Kansas and Texas both lost 3 players to the NBA. We had 1 (Warren). The difference is that both Ku and Texas retained and reloaded. Capel loses so many players each year mainly by defection that it will always be this way it looks like. Just think if we had retained Pattillo, he's playing well at WKY and Neysmith who plays allot for Auburn we would not be near this bad.

Just think if we had Blake for all four of his years.

That's why I said "8-9 Big XII teams". UT and KU OBVIOUSLY are the exception. I, for one, think our league is pretty weak.

Easy big fella...don't take more out of the post than was there. It was basically a comeback to your reply in another thread that Sampson "destroyed" 2 programs. You know this isn't true.

Besides, I like arguing with you and that was the intent of my PM. We have had good discussions in the past on this topic and others in OUInsider. We just happen to disagree with some issues regarding the job Jeff has done to this point.

Back to the topic of your original post. I do agree every OU fan saw this season coming once Tiny declared pro. I do not believe, however, that the OSU, KSU, or Baylor fans saw a season like this coming. They are probably much more upset, or should be, at the season they are having than most OU fans. Had you told me we would win 4 conference games, I wouldn't have believed it in a million years. For that, I am pleased with the job Capel has done this year. However, I am not pleased we are in this situation to begin with but I've been trying to not "cry over spilled milk" (to quote my mom).

I would think the Tech fans probably feel as bad as anybody. I heard their play-by-play guy in an interview with the local sports talk station here in KC, back in November, predicted at least 10-12 conference wins this year. He said they would finish 3rd in conference. I have to believe he wasn't the only person affiliated with Tech to feel that confident. I am sure he has scratched his head a number of times since then.

We know Tech will get a new coach, and I believe Drew isn't in trouble. Ford, probably is safe and so is the KSU coach. Is Tech the only school in conference to see a new basketball coach next year?

Neysmith really? Hahahahahaha. The guy is shooting 20% from the free throw line and is a back up guard on one of the worst teams in a BCS conference.

I've watched Auburn a few times this year and I don't see any way Neysmith makes us any better. I also have to question why Capel recruited him in the first place...

I didn't say he "destroyed" 2 programs - another poster did. In fact, I said "destroying" was a strong word to use. I, in fact, took up for KS somewhat in my response. BTW, if that was your intent...post it on that thread.

And this thread has NOTHING to do with the job JC has done...more about how other teams suck as bad as we do and didn't expect to.

Back to the topic of your original post.

That's a novel approach...:clap

No argument with me on the recruitment part, he was another strike out in Capel's attempt to get the 4 year role player types.
