I don't think so. Yes they put up a fight against KU BUT KU had their best player out in a 7 footer. If you are saying they should take in to effect Smarts absense they should give KU the #1 seed since they were without their big man for a couple games. Can't do one and not the other.

They are not only going to make it, they might be as high as a 9 or 10 seed. OSU should hope for an 11 or 12 seed because they can beat a 4 or 5 seed in the first round and then have a much better chance of winning in the second round.
OSU is a good basketball team.

They have an RPI of 40 and a 5-11 record vs top 50 teams. That's smack on the bubble but probably just good enough to get in due to the Smart sob story.
SMU is more interesting. Their RPI is worse, they only beat 4 top 120 teams & got bounced by #157 Houston for their 3rd loss to a sub 150 team. They should not make it IMO.

OSU is solidly in. They're not even on any reputable "bracketologist's" bubble. They'll probably fall in the 8/9 range and will be a popular upset pick (with good reason).

The loss to Houston will drop SMU rpi to 50. No team with a 50 rpi and only 4 wins vs top 120 ranked teams who loses to #157 in the first round of their conference tournament is "safely" in.
If the committee issued that exact summary of why SMU did not get in who could argue with their reasoning?

They were a 9/10 seed in most brackets coming into today...one loss is not going to drop them out of the tournament.

I have ALWAYS thought that ANY team, OU as well, that can't make it to .500 in their league games should not go to post season. That includes THIS years Ags and the ACC teams in the past that have gone sub .500
