Loltime to clean house. including joe c.
It was a terrible no-call but when a player is hurt that severely, the coach has to focus on that. He shouldn't have had to raise hell; the booth should have immediately ruled it targeting. They have that power, even with no challenge. SEC officiating is hot garbage, every bit as bad as the Big 12's.I’d fire BV for simply not losing it on the ref for no targeting call.
Joe C should be on the hook for the ridiculous buyout. He owns this failure too. Both should be fired and we should clean house. This is a disaster.
just a reminder that we had I think Tenessee or Georgia on the non con schedule this year. We would have lost, but the noncon was looking better before we joined the SEC and had to find last minute replacements.Brent is in so far over his head, it’s almost hard not to feel sorry for him. The only thing more unbelievable than how quickly he has run the program into the ground is the fact that there still seems to be a fair amount of fans who are convinced he is the right man for the job and has things going in the right direction.
It would be hard to put together an easier noncon schedule. We had four auto wins on the schedule, meaning we needed to win two of our other eight games. Barring a miracle, Brent will fail to accomplish that. He lost tonight to a team that seemed reluctant to throw the ball more than five yards down field for much of the game. My favorite sequence tonight: we pull of a successful fake punt (credit to him for finally pulling the trigger on something like that), then immediately screw it up by failing to get the first down snap off in time. That 40-second stretch should play in the background at the news conference when he eventually gets fired.
Oh I’m not criticizing him for the schedule. I’m just pointing out that all we needed was two conference wins and he isn’t going to get the job done. Truly amazing. This team would be in the bottom third of the Big 12, so we can’t even point to the SEC as being the reasons for our issues.just a reminder that we had I think Tenessee or Georgia on the non con schedule this year. I agree with this. Give him one more year. He knows what needs to be done. New OC, new offensive staff and a new QB. The beauty of the portal era is it can be turned around.I still have faith in BV. He made a really shitty hire that will be corrected.
only so much you can do as a HC with the injuries and fumble issues
Injuries don’t explain the litany of coaching errors and bad decisions. This is Gary Gibbs all over again. A good man, a good DC, not a good HC. We are undisciplined and sloppy. We are poorly coached and we find new ways to beat ourselves every week. It’s a complete failure.I still have faith in BV. He made a really shitty hire that will be corrected.

Actually, there absolutely is something coaches can do about turnovers and penalties and generally undisciplined play. Well-coached teams don’t do those things at an alarming rate. And as for injuries, all the talk about how much better the offense would be if only we had a couple of our WRs back. Well, we had them last night and somehow looked worse than ever. And we managed to lose to a terrible backup quarterback when our allegedly great defense just needed one stop to secure the win.I still have faith in BV. Bad teams find ways to lose football games. Whether it's muffing a punt, lining up in the shotgun on 4th and 18 inches or a live-ball turnovers that turn a game-winning drive into a scoop and score calamity, a bad football team will find a way to paint the L on the side of the bus. Our Sooners are bad.
As the "Macho Man" once said, "you may not like it, but accept it."
Well being on the opposite side of your opinion is comforting to meActually, there absolutely is something coaches can do about turnovers and penalties and generally undisciplined play. I simply don’t understand how anyone has faith in Brent as a head coach. He can put together a good defense, but that’s not his job. He is a miserable failure at every level. This program will be set back years by his mismanagement of the quarterback situation and the roster in general.
Half our fumbles are unforced. What do you do as a coach to prevent that? Sit guys? We have no one else literally lolWith how undisciplined we are and have continued to be on offense I think everything falls back on the head coach. We are ranked 134th out of as many teams in college football in fumbles, that is just complete lack of discipline and unexcusable..this is not Oklahoma quality football and it hasn't been I'd say the past three seasons now. The answer is let BV go at a whopping $45 million buyout and hope you can find the money to hire a decent HC, otherwise I fear not much will improve going into next season.
Or how about this. - For as much as that staff is getting paid they are undeserving of it with what they've put out on the field this season, let's maybe invest some funds into the other programs that are actually doing better?
