Hey, I’m not saying that Lon didn’t recruit this group and should have recruited others (everyone on here use the hindsight is 20-20 rule) all I’m saying is that when you put players in to position to make a layup or dunk or free throw etc etc etc and they don’t, you can’t lay it all on the coach - he did his job tonight in getting the easy shots all night long and the PLAYERS didn’t do theirs

At least I saw a first (Odomes shooting free throws via a jump shot). I've never seen a free throw shooter take a jump shot in a free throw attempt.
 
I quit watching this team after the K State game. It’s simply too frustrating. I check this board during games or espn to catch the score. I don’t feel guilty. It’s crappy hoops. One thing is guaranteed from me. I’ll never get my hopes up on an OU bb team after the non con schedule. NEVER AGAIN.

lol....I see your point. Before I posted I was talking to my wife asking why do I keep watching the b-ball team. She said “because you’re not a fair-weather fan”. She has a point seeing that I’ve been a Buffalo Bills fan over 30 years and still watch them.

Man I would think that as the son in law of a coach, you'd lighten up on the armchair QB stuff. Questioning timeouts is such an old act. You guys act like there is one clearly correct way to do it. Self calls them early and often. Roy Williams basically refuses to call them under any circumstance, regardless of how inexperience his team is and how poorly they are playing. Both in the Hall of Fame, both with national titles. I would prefer Lon use them more often to stop runs, but to act like it's a key reason we lose games is far fetched.
 
We lose games because Lon has poorly assembled and poorly coached teams. There are some nice pieces on this team, but the other critical pieces are playing for other teams that should be on this team.

If you can't rebound and you can't shoot, you won't win.

I hate the way he does it...kruger...mainly because its his philosophy that they "learn" on the floor. Which is ok with certain teams....and having most of these guys in his program for 2+ yrs he should know.

It may not not be a key reason but it def doesnt help.

On top ypu pick 2 blue blood programs that get top recruits all the time as comparatives.

Fandom is a crazy thing. Lol! Only in sports will we continuously watch bad teams and love and hate it at the same time.

Crazy what coaching along with obvious greater talent can do... meanwhile we are "the most experienced" team. But our team is super basketball dumb and terribly coached
 
Just finished watching this game on a tape delay...I get some of you wanting to blame no one but Lon, but for the love of god...these guys HAVE to make critical FT's during crunch time!! The flagatant on CJ..we get 2 phucking FT's and the ball...a chance to come away with 0 to 5 points on that possession...and we get the GOOSE EGG!!?? After that...I knew it was game over!! Are you kidding me?! And the FT's weren't really close!! A guy who is a 80% FT shooter...a SENIOR!! That's on him...NOT LK! The kid was a 4 star...I doubt he was considered SOFT in HS! And Manek...you deserve some blame too!

Then we're down 4...and CJ takes a LONG 2?! I doubt he was coached to do that either! I. This team needs guys who want the ball at the end...no one wanted to take the shots at the end!! Harmon is that kind of player!! This team needs some leadership.

And like I've said before...3-16 from 3 land...when the other frockin teM was 10-22...that's killed us over this losing stretch. Some of it is just bad luck...guys on the other team hitting $hit that haven't hit this year...when it rains it pours.

Ok how about Gregg Marshall? No blue blood there and he calls fewer timeouts than any coach in the country other than possibly Roy. And he has as inexperienced team as you'll find this year.

Again, I personally would call more. But if you pay attention, he has called them quicker the past couple years than before.
