NORMAN – For the first time in program history, the Oklahoma men's golf team will play in the NCAA Men's Championship Final as the Sooners rolled past No. 3 seed Illinois, 3-1-1, on Tuesday afternoon at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill.
The Sooners picked up wins from Blaine Hale (4&3), Max McGreevy (2&1) and Rylee Reinertson (3&1) to earn the program's first-ever berth in the match-play final. OU will face the winner of the Oregon-Vanderbilt match in the final round, which will be televised live on Golf Channel starting at 3 p.m. CT. Tee times are set for 2:10 p.m. CT.
OU will look to win its second NCAA title in program history. The Sooners won their first NCAA Championship in 1989.
