**********OU vs Kansas Game Thread**********

We really, really miss Calvin Newell. Wish he could have stayed on till the end of the year because we just don't have the scoring punch at guard to win games against top teams in Big 12 play. We played much better on D today.

Calvin leaving is really a killer to us. We could put him and Grooms out there and cause problems. Now a miss screen or 2 and we have problems. Really would like to know the real reason he left?

Am I the only one who is sick of losing to Kansas on our home court every year?

We've lost 4 straight to them in Norman (07, 09, 11, and today). 07 and 11 were two of the worst OU teams in the last 30 years. We would have pounded them in 09 if Blake hadn't been injured.

Blake actually played about 5 minutes against KU in his two seasons. Hurt his knee early in the game in 08 and missed the 09 game with a concussion.

You are never as good as you look when you are winning and never as bad as you look when losing.

We have just played two of the best if not the best teams in the conference and have just been outclassed in the speed category. Kansas has quicker hands and feet and we are going to have trouble with the quick teams.

But having said all that, it is easy to overreact and get too high when we win and too low when we lose. Missouri got it handed to them today which is what often happens to a team with limited inside power and highly dependent on outside shooters, particilarly on the road.

things will look better when we play some of the other teams. Anyone who expected us to win either of the first two conference games had drank far too much coolaide. I think we will be more competative except when we play at Kansas.
