OU vs. Notre Dame

I checked Stubhub 10 minutes before game time and the cheapest ticket was still $55, so instead of staying on the subway till 34th street, I got off at my usual stop, 23rd, only to learn when I got home that all my cable channels were working except ... you guessed it, ESPN.

I spent the first half and part of the second dealing with the cable company's horrific, inept customer service over the phone and trying to keep an eye on the game on my tablet. I never did get the problem solved, but gave up and watched the last 13 minutes on the tablet, with the sound up finally.

In short, I had one terrible evening. But this win made up for it and all is well.

I hate Notre Dame so much -- they get treated like a blue blood no matter what the sport. In the early going (the only part I heard until late in the game), the announcers were treating ND like Duke, barely noticing that we were on the court. And they get that kind of coverage in every game of theirs that gets televised, no matter what the sport.

By the time I was able to listen again, Bilas was giving us some credit, which was a nice change, but even then, they mentioned only once or twice the foul disparity but never talked about how absurd it was and how much ND was benefiting from it. Kid glove treatment, that's what ND gets every time--from the announcers and the officials. I am SO glad we beat those guys.

Is scalping against the law in NYC?

Good win with Muni and great win without him. I expected to win with him but was not sure once I heard he was out. Only watched some of the game on my phone and looking forward to watching the replay. Team is growing.

Should’ve payed. How many times do the sooners play in NYC?

thought we did a great job the first 8-9 minutes of the second half pretty much maintaining the lead without doolittle. and the spacing and passing in that zone was a beaut, clark.

Got to see it from section 118 row 6. Well worth the m9ney. Sitting in the middle of a lot of ND fans though.

It used to be -- not sure if it still is. But I didn't want to spend half the first half trying to snag some tickets I could afford outside the arena -- and perhaps then find out they were phonies and I'd thrown away my dough (I've had friends that happened to).

Had I known I was going to miss the first half anyway, due to my cable troubles, I'd have maybe given it a shot. But if Stubhub prices didn't drop, I'm not sure the scalpers' prices would have either.

You get the heart, hustle, and hardwire performance of the game Sky. I have sling tv and without a doubt it will cut out when a shot goes up but will never miss a commercial. Tonight it cut out with 5 minutes left in the first half and came back right at the end of the half. I think we closed on a 7-0 run but I was still in a primal ape-like state of mind for a NY minute or two.

I was really impressed with a lot of our guys tonight in this win. I think we are already at this point a better team than we were last year at any point just because we play like a team and we actually play defense!!!

I work for a non-profit and live alone. NYC is very expensive.

I've attended every other game OU has played here since 1982, but $80 is more than I can justify, and that's what the vast majority of tickets were going for on Stubhub, even right before tip-off. The one pair that was down to $55 had to be purchased as a pair and picked up (no idea how that would work).

I may have many faults but a lack of loyalty to the Sooners is not among them.

Interesting..
What's your background? I mean, living in NYC...being an OU fan...

I should have been a sociologist...I find things like this interesting.

I grew up in OKC. Graduated from John Marshall and OU and then moved to NYC in 1982. Been here ever since.
