OU vs TECH

I think the fact that Maddie is tall results in turnovers. McKenna fell down, rolled over the ball, and landed out of bounds. They gave the turnover to Maddie. Coltan said that Maddie could get to the rim any time she wanted. Did it twice today. It would be nice to have her back.

Prior to her injuries, I saw Maddie being a lot like what we are seeing with Gioya, similar in style, except that Gioya is 5-9 while Maddie is 6-2 and leaps like someone 6-6---or did.

Gioya had some nice assists. When you move, you can open people up.

Peyton had a good game, playing within herself. When you look at the stat lines of Peyton and Gioya, you can see why OU won. Points, rebounds, assists, blocks, steals, few turnovers. Maddie also played like that, as did Treece.

Kay Kay appeared to be a bit off, but her stats ended up pretty fair. Nobody dominated at anything on the stat sheet. Everyone contributed. Nobody looked stupid.

Both her parents were athletes at U New Mexico. One played basketball and the other ran track.
UNM wanted Amber bad.
Sometime, I would like you to explain the suspension of Battle. I saw the video. I saw nothing that she did wrong---unless it was to show up a male by getting a rebound from him.

Another nice win! Sounds like the light switch went on for everyone starting with the Yale game. I hope it continues. If it does, it bodes well for the next couple of years.

Wish I could have seen it. Didn't have time to even listen, but I'll be there Wednesday night ready to see how we do against Texas. That is a big confidence winner if we can win that at home.

Go Sooners!

I thought Maddie looked more like what I've seen of her in past (albeit not much). It's going to be a work in progress for Maddie, not only having 2 ACL injuries but also, she just hasn't played many D1 games. She's making progress and she's going to get more comfortable and more experience as the year goes along. There's not any rush and I think that's is what Sherri and staff are trying to do, gradually get her back to the Maddie we've seen in the past.

Another big win on the road in Big 12. Team is improving. And gaining confidence (that may be the biggest improvement we've seen)! Huge game coming up at LNC next week against the whorns. I expect a big crowd and great effort from the team. We have a good chance to win and would be another good step if we did.

Boomer Sooner!

Amber Battle is a heck of an athlete.

Yes, Battle, in her 6th year, has always been one of those players who was a threat to us. NO, really not 6 years, but like Jordan Barncastle before her....it seems like she has been there FOREVER. I remember in the 90's, maybe later, that Nebraska had a softball player that seemed to play every year, never graduate. I don't know why some players seem like that to me....seems like I remember Sherri saying the same thing about Barncastle.

I think the deal was that she shoved him first or hit him. However, I did
not understand it either and it is not about female vs male. I thought it looked
like he was playing pretty rough and kind of in response she hit him or shoved him but like you would see in a basketball game and the player would get a tech, maybe. In a pick-up game, no big deal. His retaliation seemed over-the-top. Maybe it was a political gambit to prevent his being kicked off the team.

Anyway, certainly agree with you. If it had been two females or two males and the same thing occured, I would have felt the same way. Or she and the football player's roles reversed, I would have felt the same way. Just made no sense by what was visible on the video. Maybe there was more to it that we did not see or hear.

She really wasn't on the court enough time to give her a fair evaluation.

Thanks. In the video of a practice, I thought she looked leaner and like
she was moving well, but it was prior to injury and it was just a short video.

For most of the game, I thought the starters performed better as a group than probably they have in any game this year. We normally get good production from one or two but usually not all 5.

That's about all I got out of it. Amber said she [whatever she did] first. She was vague about exactly what she did. In the video I saw, there's a pole between the players and the camera. Amber goes up to him and you can't tell if she hits him or shoves him or what, but then he retaliates by punching her.

We need to keep KayKay on the floor. She did aright, but foiuling out in 18 min isn't exactly ideal. I hope she isn't going back to her old ways.

I doubt they had the same intensity against Tech that they had against Kansas.
