Update: OU will play UCLA in the first round. Butler or UNC in the second.

I'm guessing this is the big news coming out today the official OU basketball twitter accounts are hinting at.

It's a great field with UNC, UCLA, Georgetown, Wisconsin, Butler, Florida and UAB.

@OU_MBBall: The #Battle4Atlantis bracket will be announced at 10:10 am CT. #Sooners, Butler, Florida, Georgetown, North Carolina, UAB, UCLA, Wisconsin.

Re: Battle 4 Atlantis Bracket being announced today

OU plays UCLA on Wednesday November 26 at 2:30. Will play winner/loser of butler and North Carolina.

Other side of bracket is Wisconsin vs UAB and Florida vs Georgetown.

Should be a tough game, but would be a great win for the program. About to go see who they got recruiting, know they lost a lot of talent to the draft last year, so being an early game, maybe our experience can handle some young studs.

Re: Battle 4 Atlantis Bracket being announced today

looks like OU gets UCLA first

My early prediction: OU beats UCLA, then beats North Carolina. Loses to Wisconsin in the final.

also great that the OU first round game is on ESPN2 instead of AXS tv

This field is really good. Win or lose, these are the game we need our players in to get ready for tournament time.

T
he UCLA Bruins basketball team enjoyed a successful 2013-2014 season by winning the Pac-12 tournament championship and advancing to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament. After the season Zach LaVine, Jordan Adams, and Kyle Anderson left school early and entered the NBA draft where they got drafted #13, #22, and #30, respectively. The Bruins also lost the Wear brothers, David and Travis, and reserve guard Aubrey Williams to graduation and reserve center Sooren Derboghosian, who transferred to the Drexel Dragons.

All in all, that is 55.2 points per game, of the 81.2 averaged, 23.7 rebounds per game, of the 37.2 averaged, and 12.9 assists per game, of the 17.2 averaged. That is a lot of production that needs to be replaced, so lets take a look at the roster for this upcoming season and who might be able to replace some of the lost production.

The Bruins have the 7th ranked incoming freshman class, according to 247 Sports, that includes three top 100 recruits, according to ESPN.

If we get Thomas eligible, we will win the thing. Otherwise, even 1-2 with a respectable showing would be just fine.

Is there seeding for that Tournament? If so, it would appear that OU is either the 3 seed or 6 seed. I am guessing AUB is the 8 seed and working from that assumption. Does anyone know if there is official seeding?

Agreed. Either way, this tournament will be a tough early season test for OU.
