Per twitter .. Woodard, Clark are now REALLY important...!

Kind of strange to be eliminated so early in the process. I wonder if a) he really wants to go to TU (close to home, I believe his father teaches there, and his HS coach may end up there), or b) we've cooled on him.

I think Clark is more important than Woodard, but it'd be nice to not get shut out of the Oklahoma guards in this class.

Did he say who his finalists were? Kind of weird if he just said OU were eliminated.

Sorry I don't know how to post twitter on here...

Tu, marq, memphis, Georgia, and vandy... Will sign early

What is it about Tulsa area players? Very few of the good ones over the years have wanted to go to OU. It has been historically tough for the Sooners to pull high-profile recruits out of that part of the state. Ryan Humphreys is the only one that comes immediately to mind, and he played his final two seasons at Notre Dame.

Guess that's why I never really thought Parker would pick OU in the end. Oh, well, can't win 'em all.

Yep, we haven't gotten many. Tisdale. Ere was originally from here. Renzi Stone.

When I first moved to Tulsa (1970's) all you ever heard about was the University of Tulsa, OSU and Arkansas. I quit watching the local sports several years ago, so I don't know if it's still as bad as it used to be.

Too bad, I had hoped to land him. Hopefully Clark and Woodard want to play for the state's team.

Ya, I believe his father is still a law school professor there.

His brother Jason was never hot about OU; he wanted to play for KU but Roy Williams chose DeShawn Stevenson over Parker to fill his shooting guard scholarship. When Stevenson went pro out of high school, Roy tried getting Parker back but Parker decided to stay firm with TU. Not saying Juwan has the same TU and KU interests (don't even know how serious KU is about Juwan), but it wouldn't shock me if that were the case.

This makes no sense. He's been to several OU games the last few years and has always talked about how much he liked OU.

You never can tell what is going on behind the scenes in a deal like this, I mean OU just brought in three pretty solid players that potentially all play the same position that he does and is looking hard at two more [although one is definitively a point guard in Clark]. Based on that alone I was always concerned about landing all three guards in one class, and was hopeful for two out of the three [Woodard, Clark, Parker] with Omega Harris in 2014. I'm actually glad that if OU was still recruiting him he let us know relatively early on in the process that the interest wasn't reciprocated.

Too bad he is a super player. I wonder if he thinks we signed too many wings.
Clark is the key. I would guess if he commits we don't take another point guard in the class. He and Cousins would be the starting backcourt in 2013 with one of the other guys this year starting at the 3. The last one would be able to back up all three positions and get plenty of playing time.

With the obvious pulls to TU and now Manning hire my money is on Tulsa.

OU would still need another backcourt player or even two. With four guys you are an injury away from not having a bench player. Additionally, I think a team wants a bench to push the starters.

I would note that OU would still have Cam Clark and Tyler Neal for 2013/14 but I think OU still needs another player or two. OU also needs to focus on forwards.
