This is for yesterday's practice. There was a lot more 5 on work in the half court and their depth got tested a bit. Cole was out with whatever is bothering him and Cousins was soaking his left foot in an ice bucket. Cousins also has a wrap on his left hand/wrist. I think it's just some normal bumps and bruises as they work back into playing shape. With our history of feet problems, I'm sure they will be really careful with Cousins.

As far as the practice session went...Buddy Hield looks like a pro. He is significantly better than last season. Walker did a very good job of finding open people full court and in the half court. Crafty passer. They are still really staying on Bennett about his blocking out technique. A clear emphasis for him. Spangler and Thomas (fingers crossed) really run the floor well and stood out. Lattin and McNeace continue to cause issues with their length. Lattin has one of the prettiest jumpers I've seen in such a young big and knocks down a high number of them. Mankin played well again but his lack of athleticism hurts him at times defensively. There was a big emphasis on activity and communicating on defense. We should be much improved defensively. The added length is making a difference. Bennett especially has a knack of getting to shots. That's about it. I got there a little late. This will be my last report for a week or so at least. I work nights week on, week off and I'm back at it.

PS... Saw a tweet today that Manyang made it to practice today. Wish I could have checked him out.

Lattin is one of those guys I've had to reel myself back in from having too high of expectations from. I really think this guy was a steal.

I agree on Lattin. I think he has what it takes to be a special player.
