Prep Spotlight: Unsigned 2011 OKC players

Looks like he could be the next Jason Yanish.

Good comparison.

Judging by what I saw on that video, Farmer doesn't appear to be athletic or quick enough to play for a major D-1 program. You can tell that he has plenty of court smarts and his fundamentals are good. Reminds me of an old school player from the 60s and 70s. I just don't see him as someone who could help OU, now, or in the future.

Still, it's interesting to discuss players like him, which is why the time WilliamJennings puts in is so valuable to this board. Thanks, WJ! :clap

As of right now, the only post player target that I know of OU to be targeting is Phillip Jurick of Chattanooga Junior College. OU has recently just officially offered Elijah Carter of Brewster Prep in New Hampshire. Also, Cezar Guerrero informed me thursday that he had an extended telephone conversation with Jeff Capel about his recruitment. He said the call went very well.

I do not believe OU is currently targeting any current 2011 kids instate. Josh Richardson and Dominique Raney are the best candidates, but neither are point guards. I spoke with a high level ex-assitant coach and he told me that he believes Raney will eventually get a high major offer, especially if he improves on his spot up 3pt shots. Richardson is weighing his options and considering reclassifying himself as a 2012 recruit. Richardson has just turned seventeen and may mature more physically if he makes that choice.

The problem I see with Jurick is it would put us with Fitz, Goff, Osby, and Jurick all in the same class and would be a huge hit when they graduated.

So it is Karrons Scholarship that is being dangled out there? It seems really odd that OSU would be going after another point guard prospect with 3 or 4 already on the roster. I guess ford learned that you shouldnt take 3 points in the same class.

I hear Dowell is gone and Penn ofcourse isnt playing well. They really are worse at pg than OU when you talk about the future.

I think Gulley is thier future. Was he the one to lead them into the tourney last year or was that penn?

It was Gulley. I think he can be really good if you put really good scorers around him, like Balbay at Texas. If you need scoring out of your PG he isn't your man.

He absolutely HAD to take that many points. Eaton was graduating, leaving just Page on the roster. And on the day Dowell, Penn and Gulley signed, Page hadn't played a single minute at OSU yet, and who knows if he turns into a gigantic bust.

So you throw some darts at the wall and hope some stick. The Gulley dart is hanging on.

Rex Farmer, the 6'7 OKC Storm forward is competing in the National Homeschool championships and has chance to make the final four tonight. Hear is some action from the tournament.

Sorry guys, but Buxton-Hill is not gonna play at OU. Not athletic at all and can't shoot the ball either. Just not a Big 12 caliber player. Maybe a really good DII or NAIA guy, but just isn't skilled enough, or athletic enough to survive at any high or mid major schools. Don't like talking about a kid like that, and wish it weren't the case, but I watched him all wkd at the state tourney. He just is what he is. Anybody telling him he needs to go to that level is setting him up for failure, or at least a very limited role on a team. Sorry.

It would have been interesting to see how some of those Douglass guys would have looked if they were the go to guy.

WJ,

Read on CA, that the Tirer(sp) from the OKC Storm might be going to Douglass?

I don't have any inside information on where Allonzo will be going to school. I imagine his enrollment will be highly scrutinized. He has attended several Douglass games.
