Pritchard decommits

Guys admittedly I wouldn't be saying this if Pritchard hadn't decommitted but remember how things tend to work out. We could be watching OU in the Final Four with a stud 'to be known' PG that we absolutely love while Pritchard ends up being average in NCAA BB. You just never know.

It is what it is, kids are fickle and have their own lives. Just keep moving forward, Kruger will get it done one way or another. Have faith.

I agree with this whole heartedly.

This kid seems like a great fit, but if he decides to go elsewhere we need to wish him the best of luck, I believe in Kruger and I believe in this program.

I understand this sentiment but I can't say I can partake in wishing him all that well if he goes elsewhere. If he would have just taken the time the first go round Ou might be in a much better place with other elite prospects. We shut down pg recruiting for him, now we are behind the 8 ball. I understand this happens all the time, but I'm not going to wish him good luck if he strings us along here only to break our hearts again. I don't wish anything bad upon him but he is more or less dead to me if he doesn't sign with Ou. Just my $.02..carry on

Part of the reason the kids commit early is that some coaches won't wait for them to finish the recruiting process. I'd say that is just as bad as a kid committing and decommitting. That's why I called it (recruiting) a game earlier this week. That's exactly what it's become. LK plays it. I see no reason not to expect the kids to play it either.

Besides, it isn't like he waited until the day before signing day.

It may as well be the day before signing day. Anyone we can add at this point is just a "diamond in the rough." Sometimes they work out, like Cousins, and sometimes you end up with Frank Booker.

He acted perfectly within his rights, but he still hurt the OU program by his actions. I don't wish him any ill will, but I also won't call myself a fan of his.

A LOT of uncommitted kids out there from the Top 100.

We are supposedly in on Dejon Jarreau and JJ Caldwell. Jarreau is out of New Orleans with great size & athleticism. Caldwell is currently committed to Texas a&m but OU was in on him and he wants to play with mcgusty.

You can't just jump in on these top kids, and say "hey, you weren't our first choice, but come on down!" That's only going to work if OU is better than their current offers. When Payton committed, and was a strong commitment, OU lost the ability to do much else recruiting his position.

Rumor has it we were still recruiting other PG's, b/c we always had the option of using Payton as a combo. And we know we're still actively recruiting guards in general, b/c he have room for at least one or two more.

It's not an ideal situation, but it's also not the end of the world. That's what happens when the way you recruit, in a way, pressures kids to commit early or get left behind. It's why UT football had a lot of decommits, b/c Mack Brown liked getting kids early before they could look around.

I agree. I don't think Kruger and the staff have put all their eggs in one basket. They know the recruiting game and are smarter than that. Also, we have so many scholarships available next year so they're in contact with a bunch of kids. I was concerned we might have too many HS kids for one class, but I bet they're looking at some juco's. Maybe even a transfer. Sometimes you have to cast the line several times before you catch a fish

I have a lot of faith in this staff to continue to upgrade our recruiting, but there will be bumps in the road. Stay strong.

here is the plan. we are gonna crowd source a plane ticket for me up there...ill sleep with his girlfriend all the while recording it. i will buy oregon sheets so he thinks im an oregon fan. i will then send him the video

1)he breaks up with his girlfriend
2)he hates oregon
3)i hope his gf is attractive

I haven't seen anyone claim its the end of the world. Unlike Capel, Kruger has contingency plans. The problem is, they are contingency plans and not the first option. The program will be fine without him. Hell, the kid could even turn out to be a bust. If he ends up at Oregon, I seriously doubt we here anything from him again, much like the last big recruit we lost to Oregon (I can't even remember his name).

But it still hurts OU to lose him at this point.

We'll definitely hear about him. As many have said, this is Scottie Reynolds 2.0 in the making.

In college basketball, the PG is the focal point of a team. A really good one is tough to find. Reynolds wasn't a PG. Pritchard is. He will be tough to replace if we really lose him.

Malik Hariston. Yeah didn't do much

Reynolds was very similar to what Pritchard is as a player. An undersized scoring PG/combo guard.
