Pritchard decommits

Well, if it will make any of you feel better, he went 4/18 yesterday in the Adidas tournament his team is playing in. He does that more often than a lot of you guys probably heard about. Some of us never put those type of game stats on here, for fear of getting roasted LOL. Kid is still a good player, but IMO, he's not Scottie Reynolds. If turns out to be that good, I'll be personally shocked. Hope he's still a Sooner and he proves me wrong tho!!!

Hmmm... It will be interesting to see how all the high school kids work out at their respective colleges. There is no hiding when you get to that level. All the world wind of hype goes away. I would venture to say that Pritchard isn't as good as a lot of people on this board think. Most people who post here aren't privy to how much politics goes on with these national rankings and shoe companies. It is unbelievable, and I only have second hand info.

And I'm not going to read all the comments again. But Word on the street is the old girlfriend is getting in the way for the trip to OU.

I figured a girl was involved. Too bad. Maybe it's best for him. Time will tell.

If it's only a girl then we may still have a shot if said romance fizzles before signing day. I have to think a strong year on the court this year wouldnt hurt.

Does coach have a daughter to send on a "recruiting" trip? It worked for Doc Rivers.

You'd think his parents would talk some sense into him.

I'm just now catching up-- this is really bad news. It stinks having to grovel for the attention of a HS junior, but he's goo enough, and OU needs him badly enough that they need to fire all their bullets before letting him go. I agree with others that a re-commit after a de-commit seems like a longshot, but you gotta try.

Agreed.

But it does sound like this is over a girl, so I'd think OU would have decent enough chance if Pritchard gets passed that. Otherwise, what, probably Oregon?

Louisville is back in touch with him. He said in article with them that distance was not an issue. So he's either squashing those rumors or trying to save face!!

Care to share what ya have? I hate this waiting game haha all we needed was McGusty and we had a top 10 class

Nothing earth shattering... Just a good vibe. spoke to Someone very close to PP.

They told me OU still very much in the picture. Will narrow down schools in the fall.

Just wants to make sure the school is perfect for him.

His last message showed a lot of love for the Sooners.

Mcgusty I have no clue on anymore, he's BLOWN up. OU was the first big school to offer him, so hopefully that helps.

I haven't seen anyone claim its the end of the world. Unlike Capel, Kruger has contingency plans. The problem is, they are contingency plans and not the first option. The program will be fine without him. Hell, the kid could even turn out to be a bust. If he ends up at Oregon, I seriously doubt we here anything from him again, much like the last big recruit we lost to Oregon (I can't even remember his name).

But it still hurts OU to lose him at this point.

What you should have said is unlike Capel, Kruger can develop his Contingency Plan players into solid players because during the time he has been here the majority of the players that Kruger has brought in are contingency plan players.

As always, thanks for the insight. I hope these players sign in November, as patience is tough for some of us that follow recruiting. It could become unbearable if they wait until next April. :D

Shrug when they commit.
Shrug when they de-commit.
Celebrate when they sign.

That's how I handle it. I don't know how you recruitniks sift through all the "information" and "sources" and "hunches". The amount of incorrect recruiting info shared on this site over the years has been staggering. Oh, he's SOLID! Got a real good feeling about this visit. He's close to signing.

Groan.

IKWT.

I understand how you feel, nothing wrong with that way. I enjoy the recruiting side of basketball a lot more than most.

Just sharing some info.
