Right, but none of that means he IS NOT the best new coach in the Big 12. This thread is about the best new coach in the Big 12. Its not about who is the coolest guy, who has the cleanest record, who makes the most money, etc. Its about who the best new coach in the league is.
It's one thing to make a claim then change your mind well into the future.
It's another to make such strong claims about something very specific then do a complete 180 almost immediately.
The old search button can come back to bite you for sure.
Abd of all people knows that all too well. I try not to use it that much on people personally because we all have made claims, predictions, and knee jerk reactions on here that turn out to look foolish in the future.
There was a time that I thought Capel was the second best coach in the conference!

There was a time when I thought my wife was the most beautiful woman in the world!
Niether school could go wrong? BG is a drunk and he will do it again. Just like Eddie.
I think Tech hiring a coach like BCG is more impressive than OU hiring a guy like Kruger... BCG was at the top, possibly the biggest name in coaching coming out of A&M.
Kruger is great, but its not like OU lured him away from Duke or something. He was at a mid-level Mountain West school.
Tech did a great job and got lucky to land a guy like BCG, while OU is expected to land a good coach like Kruger.
Kruger was in such demand that he was coaching a mid-major in Nevada.

I don't think any of the coaches were in such great demand, but based on pedigree and past trends, Kruger is unquestionably the best hire.
Absolutely no question about that. Just thought boca's apparent suggestion that Kruger was some kind of hot commodity was a bit absurd.
Kruger has had the best career by far. Gillispie could maybe rival him as far as recent success goes (looking at his UTEP and A&M teams, not so much UK). Haith and Kennedy have a lot to prove, but I think both have the potential to do very well at their current school.
All four hires could end up very successful, and I could see all four failing (for different reasons).
