With TMG possibly on the way out, does anybody think this might increase our chances for Ray McCallum? If I remember correctly, one of the issues for him was whether or not he could be the starting PG from day one. If TMG is gone, it seems like the job could be his.

Thoughts?

I think it would be a tremendous get for the Sooners. Ray Jr. would be the type of player that could really help turn this ship around.

Yes back in September, same visit as Cameron Clark if I remember right.

I think Ray might be the best hope if TMG does leave, it would be really nice but a juco seems like the most realistic option.

I think its over with McCallum...he's not even listing us anymore.

Which I think was due to him believing TMG would be back, he seems like he wants to be able to step into a starting role. If TMG does leave I think one phone call to him could lead to OU at least being in contention again, that is just speculation on my part. Ray seems to have good memories of Norman from his father's time here along with I believe he is good friends with Kyle Hardick and Kellen Sampson so an open PG spot might work some late magic.

I was thinking about this too... hope Capel is on it!

See, I've found a role for Hardrick, Super-Friend! All jokes aside, I'm still a big believer that the "heart" of your program is often found on the last four spots on the bench...Kyle seems like a good kid.

Another thought may be to take KC Ross-Miller away from LSU. He is good friends with TJ and Cam. He hasn't signed with the Tigers yet....

I guess that's possible, although probably less likely than McCallum. McCallum seems to be just waiting to see what shakes out with all the NBA defections at various schools as well as coaching changes. Ross-Miller already commited at a place that he thinks would be right for him.

I wanted Ross-Miller, but I wanted him as a backup for TMG this year that could one day start. I'm not sure he would fill our need as a freshman this year. I think it will have to be a juco PG if TMG is gone, unless it's a star like McCallum, who is BTW a MAA. I don't see him as a problem though like many of the MAA's. I see him more like a typical coaches son, with a game and body similar to Hollis Price.

There are going to be alot of pgs that emerge through coaches leaving. Ray McCallum is going to Detroit though and I don't know if we want to send the vibes of recruit stealing on the heals of what's going on. Willie Warren could possibly be the pg if he comes back next year, but it is starting to look like a real problem area.
