Recruiting

I thought Amihere was a forward, being 6-2 or 6-3. I think Ezi Macgebor (or something like that) is the center.

Yes Amihere has even said she wants to play Small Forward in college, but with her athleticism she would be a monster on the boards, I can’t see her playing away from the basket... Ezi is a Center I don’t think she’ll end up at Uconn tho, I think 2020 Camron Brink will.

I can almost guarantee you Amihere will not go to OU, there's just no way. Don't care what anyone says, our coaches are lucky to convince a top 20 player to commit, no less a top 5 player. At least these last handful of seasons.

Madi williams is top 20 everywhere but ESPN #8 on Prospect Nation and 17 by Blue Star...

Madison is #8. Shaina was #7 International. Shaina and Amihere are supposed to be friends.

Yes and I think that’s something that can work in our favor, her other friend has been struggling to get minutes at Stanford...

Madi, Tatum, Taylor, Jessi, and Dee have all been nominated for the MacDonald's All American Game... Congrats to all

November 13, 2013
OU announced their signing class:

Gabrielle Ortiz #14
LaNesia Williams
Vionese Pierre-Louis #83
Gileysa Penzo

In her final highschool game, Vionese Pierre-Louis suffered a torn ACL. But, she rehabilitated over the summer and played for OU that Fall.

In pre-season, Gileysa Penzo suffered a torn ACL and had to be redshirted her freshman year.

In their first year at OU, 2014-2015, they would join another player who was still rehabilitating from two ACL injuries. This was her first year (other than three games in Hawaii in 2012.

Shaina was not ranked top 100 in the ESPN Hoopgurlz rankings for her class. Also, Williams is ranked #77 in that same poll. I'm not saying its impossible, but few and far top 20 ranked players come to OU. Any poll that ranked Ortiz in the top 20 was way off, either that or she's gotten worse since she came to OU, which would not surprise me at all.

I still stick to my guns in saying Amihere will not come to OU and it's wishful thinking.

ESPN rankings for women's basketball aren't the most reliable rankings available.

You do love advancing the worst case scenario for anything OU. If you actually followed HoopGurlz, you might have noticed that as soon as someone committed to OU, there was a tendency to downgrade them. I think Dungee began as about a #6, Ana somewhere in the top 8.

Madison was #8 by Prospect Nation and was named to the McDonald's All-American game. If you hadn't noticed, the #1 prospect in the nation, Charli Collier who is headed to Texas called Madison a "beast" because she was unstoppable in a game against Collier.

I don't think Veitenheimer was even ranked by HoopGurlz late. But, Prospect Nation had her as #24. From what HornFans has indicated, HoopGurlz is one scout, whereas Prospect Nation has thirteen.

And, due to their relationship (Pellington, Amihere), we stand as good of a chance as anyone. She wouldn't be our first Canadian.

Madi was #30 before she picked OU, I don’t think ESPN drops players who pick OU, a lot of it it based off of summer play since all the scouts can see multiple players at once... I think Madi had a avg of 8-10ppg over the summer and since her scoring numbers were low she dropped... I think she will be back up in the 20s once they do the rankings over...

And it’s good that we are in the top half of school Amihere is looking at as long as we stay in consideration and she keeps give Shay shoutouts online I like our chances...

I don't know if we stand as good a chance as anyone but you have to think Shaina definitely gives us a chance. A chance we need to make happen somehow.
