:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I'm still hacked that he didn't don the C&C. Oh what could have been...

Nothing like bringing back up the biggest 'what if' ever. James and Reynolds and Griffin.

No big deal but he went to my elementary school. I beat his then half-mile time record in the 3rd grade...guess I was on track to play ball for OU, wonder what happened :ez-roll::ez-roll:

And another near miss from those two years, Hasheem Thabeet. Yikes, we would have been salty. And a team with ONE of those four players got to the Elite Eight...

Griffin?

They had 3 players decommit: Damion James, Scottie Reynolds, and Jeremy Mayfield. James was a star at Texas as was Reynolds an Villanova. Mayfield was a bit player at UAB before transferring to NAIA Texas Wesleyan his last 2 years.

I believe his point was that Blake Griffin would've been a true freshman alongside sophomores Damion James and Scottie Reynolds.

Just to prove I'm a glutton, I looked up the career scoring for Reynolds and James.

Scottie: #2 all-time at Villanova with 2,222 points.
Damion: #5 all-time at Texas with 1,917 points. Also the leader in Big 12 career rebounds.

Ugh. Kelvin.

Final four year 1 - champs in year 2.

Yes. Plus year 2 we would have had a freshman Willie Warren added to the mix. That's a team that could have made some noise in March.

Funny, but I always felt that James underachieved at ut, but the stats, now that I look them up, say otherwise.

James did play all 4 years at UT.

he was by no means in the top echelon of Barnes' players at UT. a good to very good player as an upperclassman, but i'd say his stats are a cumulative effect. other top UT players were turning pro after 1 or 2 years, part of what i'm saying.

James was the big 12'ams all time leading rebounder, scored almost 2,000 points in his career (close to what buddy will score), and had a decent stint in the Nba. Let's not downplay him too much. He's not Kevin Durant or Blake griffin, but he was a great player at the college level.

I'm doubting WW would have played for Kelvin.

We do owe Villanova for one of the worse butt kickings I have seen in LNC.

i would say he was a good to very good player at the college level who would have made Oklahoma a better team if he had honored his commitment.

and it's not about hating Texas like some others....i think it was clear watching Damion James play he wasn't a sure fire ready to play fr or even soph like some others....

including scottie reynolds. kid switching his commit, so be it. i used to like Jay Wright but he's come across as a bit of a prick lately...so, let's beat these guys.

bring down all the irrational Billy era ACC/current totally rational screw ESPN until tomorrow never ends east coast long time LNC Sooner hoops love...get it going.

all that said by me, Nova has beaten everyone by more than 10-15. Nebraska, Georgia Tech, Stanford, St. Joe's...

we'll need to play our best game thus far to win.
