Rhode comment on Buzz Williams and OU

No one on here has radar, mostly Nestles Quik decoder rings at work here.
 
I don't want Buzz.

He can stay at Croquette
 
The hire will be a video assistant from East Popcorn State. Starting salary $67,500.
 
To say it is easier to recruit to Marquette is ludicrous. I would have to question whether you even know where Marquette is. Even though we sucked last year I would bet we were on the list of as many, if not more National top 100 kids than Marquette.

Oklahoma has Texas and OK kids to pull from and 2 of the best juco conferences in the country around it.
 
Marquette.......Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They do have a national title on their resume.....under the wackiest coach in NCAA history. I do believe some guy named Wade played there also.
 
What it will boil down to is if Buzz wants and feels more comfortable in this part of the country. OU offers a good job and a comparable salary. Both schools have their pros and cons with neither having a decided advantage.

14 loses this year. not all coming from the big east. why would you want a guy that's not in the top half of his conference regardless of how tough the conference is? that's like getting a 7th place SEC coach to coach our football team because he came from a difficult conference

I was kind of being facetious but also a little serious....Marquette has some positives....Big East, basketball school, fan support, the D Wade thing is a nice one....


OU has the Big XII, much better climate, awesome football (get recruits to a game and see if that isn't a draw), a guy named Blake Griffin, long and strong history in multiple sports, our own tv network soon, location to TX and we don't have snow on the ground 1/2 the year....


Gimme Oklahoma any day

Kelvin Sampson finished 4th in the pac 10 once and 5th or lower the rest of his years there.
 
Buzz is not my first choice but we could do much worse....I'd rather have him than a 63 year old mid-major coach
