I find it weird that OU chose to not schedule a true road game until conference? Cincinnati is not at their normal arena i don't believe. Would have been nice to have a couple of true road tests. Oh well, baptism by fire in the Big 1?!!!!!

US Bank Arena is less than 5 miles from Fifth Third Arena (Cincy's home arena). I feel like that is close enough to call it a true road game.
We did the same thing with West Virginia a few years back. Played them in 2005 in the All-College then in a neutral site game in WV in 2007.

The All-College game was actually in 2006. We played WVU at a neutral site (Charleston) in 2008. OU won that game by 6 in two overtimes. It was a great win and sweet revenge for the beating they gave us in the All-College tourney two years earlier.
Neutral sites are anything but "neutral." The area/regional/home team always has the advantage. Any win OU gets is usually the result of mental toughness and gut-it-out basketball. That was certainly the case in our win against WVU in the Charleston Civic Center.
It was Blake's freshman year which was 07-08 when we played them in WV. I remember Keith Clark having a huge dunk that game, and i think we were sporting the gray unis

I looked it up. WVU at All College in Dec 2005 in that dreadful dreadful 92-68 loss. I really thought Sampson had lost the team that night.
Of course, the game at Charleston was in Dec 2007 and was a MUCH better game.
Not that it matters, but Soonerstats.com shows the All-College game in 2006 and the Charleston game in 2008. I've found that site's data to be very reliable over the years.

SoonerStats schedule is only showing the year of the Spring semester.
So, for example, they are counting this season as 2012.
Since both those WVU games happened in the fall, they were in '05 and '07.
Were splitting hairs here but we played at WV on 12/29/07, almost in 08 Ada![]()
