I made mict085 take a 7 day break from the site for personally attacking other posters and generally trying to start arguments (as he is doing now).

It was this post in particular that led to mict085 taking a week long break:

It doesn't matter who he said it about. We can't let this board become a place where people take pot-shots at each other and personally attack each other. What disappoints me is that mict085 seems to completely misunderstand why he wasn't able to post for a week.

I'm going to make it completely clear: personally attacking other posters is not going to be tolerated. This board has thrived on respectful disagreement and dialog. If someone isn't capable of arguing with others without attacking them, then they can't be a part of this message board.

Maybe it's as simple as Lon thinks the kid can help this team? Hopefully Jelon stays but the last thing you want on a team is a malcontent over playing time or someone who doesn't want to be here.

We haven't been recruiting guards for the 2014 class in months. The current roster make-up doesn't really suggest we need another guard. It would mean we would have 4 seniors, and 3 senior guards in the graduating class in 2 years.

It's not impossible that LK wants to add a guard to this class, even if Hornbeak stays. I just think it's unlikely. It would likely hurt our chances with some of the guards in the 2015 class as well.

You are probably right but it will be interesting to watch and see how it plays out. He's a 6'3" guard and if Lon wants him then he's not planning to put him on the bench.

Next year's team needs another big guy. I'm not saying go sign the first 6-9 stiff you can find, but our staff has known for a while what the make up of the 2014-2015 would be. Add to that our obvious front court deficiency from this past season and it's easy to see.

Although to play devil's advocate, if you consider Buford a four-man, the split between front and back court players heading into next season is 5-5 currently.

Adding a sixth guard isn't absurd.

Good numbers Colston. Definitely good to be balanced there, but the other balance I worry about will be this:
Freshman - 3
Soph - 3
Junior - 5
Senior - 1

That's a lot of fresh faces to bring into one class, over 1/3 of your roster. I think 4 would be the max you want to bring in any year unless you are getting a couple top 50 talents you imagine could step in and perform right away.

Who knows, maybe after another good season, hopefully a sweet 16 run in the tourney, announcement of new arena plans, we will be able to knock on some doors and sign up some elite talent in that class. Could be what Lon and the coaches are banking on and getting an elite class.

I don't think this means beak is gone. It could mean that Lon thinks this guy is capable of being a good backup PG and beak can switch to SG.
