Roderick Bobbitt

I don't think this means beak is gone. It could mean that Lon thinks this guy is capable of being a good backup PG and beak can switch to SG.

So Booker ends up not playing much?

I think the timing means this offer has everything to do with Hornbeak. And the offer is probably contingent. If Hornbeak ends up staying, I'm guessing Bobbitt doesn't have an OU offer.

We may never know the full truth. Especially if Hornbeak ends up staying.

Based on what I saw of Booker last year if he improves half as much as Cousins did he will get plenty of minutes.

taking an official to the land of beautiful ocean Hawaii and recently offered by Mizzou

Not if we have 6 guards worthy of playing time he won't.

The other reason it doesn't really make sense, to me, to bring in a JUCO guard if Hornbeak isn't leaving, is it hurts us in terms of picking up a guard in the 2015 class. Gonna be tough to convince a Shake or Grandstaff to come to OU as our 7th guard, and ride pine as a freshman.

IF grandstaff comes.... he'll get plenty of mins over several of our guards!

Shake might have to wait a year to play a lot...

I think booker can find a way to get on the floor. He could play the three as well depending on matchups. hell if cade davis can play the 4, booker could play the 3

Who? And remember, all those OU kids are going to be seniors by that point.

I like Grandstaff as much as the next guy, but he isn't some stud athlete that comes in and scores 15 a game as a true freshman. He'll be mostly a shooter that first year, and will grow into a scorer. I doubt he'd get many minutes over anybody currently on our roster, a year from now.

One thing that doesn't seem to get discussed much is how bad Buddy and Woodard were defensively. I no for a fact that Lon is very concerned about that. He may keep adding pieces and see who the best players are offensively and defensively.

Look at the final four this year. Every team plays above average defense.

I would hate doing this to TU, but if LK wants/needs a backup pg, maybe they should look at Mitch Wilbekin. Currently signed with Tulsa for next year, but is asking for a release with the coaching change. His brother is a senior at Florida, and their second leading scorer this year. Wasn't rated very highly, but did have offers from Tulsa, FSU, and Vandy. Late developer, it appears.

If he plays defense like his brother we should look at him.

We would not be doing anything to TU. It would be Manning doing it to TU. Remember James and Reynolds after Sampson left. Unfortunately, many players commit to coaches rather than schools.

Don't worry about this cat. He committed to Hawaii.

I still wonder how Hawaii cant convince 3-4 top 125 players to live in Hawaii for 4-5 years.

Hawaii will have two Mizzou transfers eligible next year, as well. Both very talented players. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see them make some noise in the next couple years. They do lose a couple starters (including Stanhardinger, who scored 18/game for them; hated him when he was at Nebraska), but they'll have some nice players next year.

Probably has to do with them not putting anyone in the league.

well get good players and they will go to the league.

i think it goes to the fact that their facilities are awful. Hard to get a big donor base out there, and everything is extremly outdated. It sounds good in theory to go hang out in Hawaii, but you realize just how freaking far away you are when out there. If you want to go anywhere, better be content with another island cause that's your only option for cheap.

If you want beach and nice weather, just go somewhere in California where you can still get home to see your family and visit other places/more to do on campus

Even Hawaii, after 4 years, would probably get a little boring. Factor in the high cost of traveling back home for holidays or the summer, and I can see why they don't recruit as well as you might think.

Knowing that Hornbeak is indeed gone, losing out on this kid hurts even more. Not a lot of talent available at this point. And we definitely need a guard capable of backing up the point.
