Rumors of Rick Barnes stepping down

Your thoughts? If it's true then it seems like the old retire or fire deal by the new AD

He's doesn't do much with the talent he gets, but it's not like anyone has done much better at Texas. They aren't like OU where they've been good for a long time.

Kelvin Sampson coaching the hated whorns against our Sooners? Hard to imagine. It would, however, pit two of my three all-time favorite OU coaches against each other.

What was Sampson's record against the bevos? I'm not quite sure UT wouldn't try to hire Kelvin (that is, if they thought he could stand the stench). Would he go if offered big dollars? Who knows?

The Franchise in OKC was interviewing some Texas media guy Tuesday. When asked about Barnes' future at UT, the guy said he believes Barnes is about to be shown the door.

I guess we can take that for what it's worth.

UT wouldn't try to hire Sampson because he's gotten 2 schools put on probation. It has nothing to do with coaching. He's a good coach although his "style" isn't appealing to some recruits.

Texas has enough prestige so they don't have to take a chance on a coach with a questionnable NCAA track record. Hell yes Kelvin would go if they offered.

Don't forget Buzz Williams. He's a native Texan and I believe ut is the job he's been waiting for. I think he'd crawl to Austin. Also curious to see who Tennessee hires. Guess they might take a shot at Marshall or Williams too.
