Satisfied?

Deeming this season a failure if eATMe shoots the lights out tonight and beats us 74-73 is your call, I just won't buy it. It's one thing if you watch the team from afar, but it's a whole other going to games and watching the fun with your own two eyes.

I was in Baton Rouge.
I got to experience one minute of pure euphoria in KC after Buddy's shot.
I saw us take the floor as the #1 team in the country (kept each stub, put a little red 1 in sharpie beside our name)
I've felt the excitement around town.
I saw the carnival around Lloyd Noble before the Kansas game.

It's been a tremendous ride. I'm never going to forget it. Failure if we lose tonight? Please.

I made just about every home game in 2010 and 2011. THOSE seasons were failures. Total, complete, failures.

Amen. I feel the same way, and I've been enjoying the ride from nearly 1,500 miles away.

I wonder what OUr guys would say...

Honestly, I'm not sure anything less than a Final 4 would equal satisfaction for me as a fan... This team is too good to let this opportunity slip by. Now, taking a step back, I know I am emotionally tied to this team and it has been fun watching them grow together. So, in all honesty, I am very satisfied with where the program is compared to where it was...

However, for our guys and the work they put in, you've gotta think they would at least say it's a disappointment, if not somewhat of a failure. This was one of their goals.

I am able to separate what the players accomplish on the court vs. who they are as people and how hard they work. The funny thing is, I disagree that the 2010-2011 Sooners were failures. The head coach was a failure for not putting togehter a decent roster, but I think that team absolutely maximized their potential when you look at the roster. They just didn't have close to the talent necessary to win in the Big XII. If this team finishes third in the Big XII, loses in the semis of the conference tournament, and doesn't advance past the sweet 16, I would say they did not maximize their potential and thus it was not a success on the court.

I woulda liked us to play better in periods particularly toward the end of the year. But it's been a fun year.

I doubt that I have maximized my potential academically, professionally or as a parent. I'm imperfect. So how in the hell can I hold other people up to standards that i can'e meet myself?

All of you who have maximized your potential in every aspect of your life, feel free to feel disappointed in this season if we don't go as far as you arbitrarily think we should.

A loss tonight makes the season a mixed bag. Time would tell what things good or disappointing linger, likely good. One more win and likely time will make everything a fond memory, except perhaps losing in the final game.

This. Great perspective.

Swing and a miss... a hard like not even in the neighborhood miss

The next I see MsProud make a "hard like not even in the neighborhood miss" will be the first time. And I'm not holding my breath.

High on my very short list of posters I might recommend no one call out, lest they make an ass of themselves in the process: MsProudSooner.

I think I'll sleep tonight

Ummm...she nailed it.

And that you saw that as a "swing and miss" shows that you're not even playing the right sport.

No.. you can absolutely judge a teams season as a success or failure without first, "analyzing ones maximized potential in all aspects of their life".. Ha whatever that means

I am satisfied, before the season I thought we would go to the sweet 16"again. I thought we would lose to nova. The only knock is I thought we would finish 2nd in the conference not 3rd, but I will trade that for an elite 8 all day.
