I'm not crazy about that 17-point deficit (yikes), but I'm very pleased with the comeback win. It seems likely that Oregon let down once they got up by such a wide margin, but good for our guys for keeping after them and not just making a game of it and pulling off the victory.
James had 32 or so. We won after being down 17 in the second half. No spectators at all in the gym. 3 Pac 10 refs called the game.
Oregon didn't play Dillon Brooks because he has a broken foot. Buford and Strong weren't able to play for us.
Starting 5 was Lattin, Woodard, Odomes, James and Doolittle. Doolittle is better than recruiting rankings. Bench was Jamuni, CJ, Freeman, McGusty and Shepard.
instead of interpreting it and picking it apart ... let's just be surprised and excited!
The 32 or so James put on the scoreboard could also be a sign that he may lead the team in that category this season. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he does.
Strong hurt his shoulder last year at Juco. I thought he was supposed to have surgery after the season ended and even posted as much here. I don't know if it actually happened or not. I'm sure this is related somehow. Maybe he just needs a few days of rest.
I knew he had an injury in juco last year, but couldn't recall the details.
I hope you're right about a few days of rest. But, to be honest this appears to be a recurring shoulder problem that never really healed properly. Sure hope I'm wrong!
I'd be shocked if he doesn't.
i think hes healed just fine. I dont know the injury that kept him out but Strong has practiced all year, done summer lifting etc...
