I know this is way out there, but it came to me as I was reading other threads -- threads that include some of our strongest online supporters clearly who are less than enthralled with what they've seen so far this year.

That's the biggest indication to me in years that this program has serious, serious problems.

Perhaps it's time for a reboot. Not with a new coach. At least not until we see what transpires over this entire season.

But maybe it's time to reboot and go for broke player-wise.

Let's discuss benching Maddie, Peyton, and Carter. Not for a game or two but for a few games. Just play Vivi, Mulkey, Dungee, Rich and Edwards. Sub in Penzo, Treece and Odimgbe.

I'm not talking about NOT playing the others, but just not playing them more than 5-6 minutes a game.

I know that is wild and disruptive. However this team needs a shake-up from top to bottom

Maybe there needs to be a permanent example set. Learn, do, have an attitude. Except nothing less than excellence. Think Mayfield and Westbrook, Perine and Mixon.

I don't know if that would spark the ladies and coaches, but really, what is at stake right now? This team is barely -- and I emphasize barely --- a POSSIBLE tournament team now. No better than 3rd in the conference or lower.

The shooting and turnovers have been horrible for years. There is no leader, even though with a senior-laden team there should be at least two or three. Sherri tried to shake it up with a new offense. The shooting has been even worse.

There is no fire. No attitude. There's no tough/mean streak. No one is holding anyone accountable from the coaches on down.

I've seen this kind of play out women's/girls club soccer teams. Both my kids have played ball in college (soccer). It's like a disease. It just gets worse.

I don't know if scrapping the past and going completely with the future is what is best. I just know nothing else seems to be working for the last several years.

Can the program really afford to have another down year or possibly not making the tournament without that result collapsing the program? I'm not sure yet, but it is possible.

Creating an organic soup from which a team evolves might be interesting. But, it will take about a billion years.
