Looking at the schedule, OU goes to Hawaii at the end of December for the Diamond Head Classic. They also travel there earlier in December to play Villanova on Dec. 7th. Is that a different tournament, or are they making the trip for just one game?

The Villanova game is just one game. If I remember correctly they are playing them at a military base in Hawaii. Then come home for two games against ORU and Creighton. Then go back to Hawaii for the tournament.

FOX Sports plans to pay tribute to the Pearl Harbor 74th anniversary with a weekend of programming. It's going to be quite an extravaganza. This link explains it all: FOX Sports Pearl Harbor events Dec 4-7

Note: Both the Pearl Harbor game and the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic on December 22-25 are on the island of Oahu. I know OU is staying at the Outrigger Waikiki for the Christmas tournament.

The sudden attack of United States military installations on the Hawaiian Islands on Dec. 7, 1941, which saw almost 2,400 lives lost, catapulted the country into World War II and united all Americans in a groundswell of patriotism. Later this year, FOX Sports, with the help of the United States military, will pay solemn tribute to those who tragically fell that day, in that four-year conflict and the sacrifice of today's uniformed personnel around the world in a weekend-long remembrance.

Using sports as a backdrop, FOX Sports is honored to call Pearl Harbor home Dec. 4-7, 2015, paying tribute to the nation's military while enlightening Americans about the world-altering events that occurred there almost 75 years ago on "a date which will live in infamy." Activities and events associated with three of FOX Sports' core sports - Major League Baseball, National Football League and college basketball - are planned throughout the extra-long weekend.

Navy will play Oregon in Pearl Harbor on December 7, 2015 in the second game of a college basketball doubleheader on FOX Sports 1. Oklahoma will play Villanova at 2:00 PM local time (7:00 PM ET) and the Mids and the Ducks will play the second game at 4:30 PM local time (9:30 PM ET).

The doubleheader will be played in Bloch Arena, located on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, which withstood the 1941 Japanese bombing. The game will be played on the 74th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

"We are honored to play in this Pearl Harbor event and we will use this occasion to pay our respect to the fallen," said Navy head coach Ed DeChellis. "It will be very special for Navy to play on the base on the anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack and we are looking forward to joining Oregon, Villanova and Oklahoma in a great field."

I would love it it the guys got to meet some of these men , or other Pearl Harbor veterans.

I agree. It's something they will appreciate more as they get older. What an opportunity.

How many Pearl Harbor survivors are still alive?
Some 2,000 to 2,500 Pearl Harbor survivors are believed to be still alive, and nine survivors of the USS Arizona are still living, according to Eileen Martinez, chief of interpretation for the USS Arizona Memorial.

My father was a freshman football player at Missouri when Pearl Harbor was attacked. He quit school and joined the Air Force for 23 years because of the attack. He was a pilot and electronics officer (He eventually got his EE degree). I have a lot of good memories of the military as a "brat".... moving from military base to base every year or so.
