The lesson to be learned for all AD's is (IMO) that if you can't hire a great teacher of the game, get the best damn recruiter you can find. All half measures in hiring lends itself more easily towards mediocrity. I liked Wojcik well enough but you have to be able to be the #2 (behind Memphis) or at the VERY least #3 dog in C-USA, or you aren't getting it done at Tulsa. But especially with the new MW teams coming in, some of which are very solid. I don't know why Manning would be a bad hire. A seemingly 'proven' head coach can tank in recruiting if taken out of his comfort zone. We've see that happen before.
